7. would be nice to have the 3 row seats in back as normal E wagon....
8. can't get rid of ashtray to have extra storage space on driving console

Still, this car has no competitor in its class so I am getting it....

Have you checked with your dealer to see the third row seat could be dealer installed. I know it was available both from the factory and dealer installed on my wife's Volvo V70R wagon.

Those are all fair grievances, but you gotta admit they're pretty minor. The water bottle not fitting the door pockets really ticks off my wife and me.

I owned a 2012 M157 wagon, small grievances or maybe not so small:

Airmatic rear suspsension- floaty
No PP shocks on the wagon (back then, now??)
No dual clutch tranny
Not the best electronics when it comes to electric steering (creates moderate understeer under higher speeds)

Hummmm not much else- as you can I see I may nitpick but its about the driveablity more than the creature comforts.

A dealer told me you loose the spare on the wagon with the B&O system because the woofer gets installed in that location.

The lack of of exciting colors was one reason I decided not to order a 2014 as if I could have got it in the dolomite brown with a brown/tan interior combo I woulda ordered one.

And to add to that list: The pano gets shoved down your throat if you are in the US.

that's one of the things I like about the car... just shows you how people have different tastes.

But hey, at least its an option and a reasonably priced one ($1,1000 vs. something like $3,000 for carbon inlays...). I would not mind paying for power folding mirrors....

agree on the mirrors, and never thouht about the ash tray one, that would be cool. who the heck smokes anymore anyway, espcially in their car!

actually ..... I do... but find that having that extra space for cell phone, cigarettes, wallet, lighter, paper, etc very handy on my '10 S4

just have a shop put the 3rd row in after purchase. you'll have the fastest 7-passenger in the world.

And I would bet that most e63 wagon buyers, clearly being true enthusiasts, wouldn't even want the panoramic roof. I know I didn't want it, even if it was free.

I like my Pano roof and use it a lot. Not rattles or anything from it.

i wouldn't bet much. i think it's one of the best aspects of the interior. not sure i'm understanding the downside of a big, beautiful glass roof in a road car.

Adds a whole lot of weight, plus a number of folks have had serious squeak problems from theirs, plus it decreases structural rigidity. And god forbid a rollover, in which case you have an open top and shattered glass everywhere. Nothing but downsides to me.

i can certainly see the annoyance of a squeaky roof. haven't read too much about that. i'm lucky, as mine functions properly. weight and rigidity concerns in a road Mercedes though? are you driving to dinner, or responding to a crash in the Parabolica at Monza?

the whole car north of the door handles is glass. not sure why roof glass would be more of a concern the 8 other pieces that surround the car...but hey, everyone has their own idea of what their car should be. is it possible to order a wagon without?

Pano also adds a lot of weight to the top, thus increasing the center of gravity.
