'16 e63 on Michelin pilot alpin 5 - 245/40/19 front, 275/35/19 rear. no rubbing at all. sublime tires.
I wanted more sidewall for potholes, snow, ice curbs.

it is, I took a pic with the wheel turned to an angle that the tire would be closest to the wheel well.
diameter of the tire wise, it's only 4.3mm more than the 255/35 so our oem ones aren't that much better with clearance.
these alpin 5's are amazing though.
I got my staggered "winter" (really just needed something to put all-seasons on to not drive on summers below 40^) wheels in from eBay during the BF sale. $580-something shipped.
E63 Wagon, BMW 530XiT Wagon, Ferrari 348 Challenge, Corvette C6R TransAm SGT, Ferrari 400i, 78 Vette
Having just purchased my new to me 2016 E63S wagon, figured I would get my snow tire and wheel set-up now so I don't have to worry about it later. I live in NYC, but drive up to our house in the Berkshire mountains every weekend all year, where we usually have decent snowfalls on a regular basis (though this past winter seemed to be more rain and less now than normal).
I found a used set of the same oem rims as what came on my car, and ordered a set of the Hakepeliitta R3s squared at the 255/35-19 all around. Obviously wont have them on the car for a while, but once I have the tires mounted on the rims in a couple of weeks, i'll post some pics.
The last few years i've been driving a BMW 530XiT wagon as my daily driver with a seperate set of OEM wheels with Blizzaks in same size as the OEM dry tires (225/50). Blizzaks worked well in the winter- found them to be a great all around tire. The 530 obviously has way less power than the E63, so will be interested to check these out next winter.
BTW- curious that over the life of this thread nobody posted a link to the Car and Driver snow test from a couple of years back. Check it out below.
Reviving this old thread, cause no point of creating a new one.
Time to start winter shopping for me, and is it just me or is 1010Tire tripping out on saying that Replika wheels won't fit a 2014 E63 S Sedan.
Looking to get the Replika R183 19x8.5 with 35mm offset all around for a square setup.
Tire size will be 255/35/19 as well.
Do you guys think this setup will work?
Of course I will need different lugbolts for these wheels, and Im assuming a hub bore adapter? (Stock rims at 66.6 and these are 66.5)

Be careful
the lugs from aftermarket I used with replica wrecked my hub even though they were "matched" (I got my replica from PCM tire)
the lugs are too long by just a couple threads, stick out the back side of the hub they screw into, and the threads get wrecked/mushroomed, when you remove the winter wheels the hub threads get ruined.
IMHO use only MB lugs. Dealer was able to save 3 out of 4 hubs, so this mistake only cost me one hub. I now use only MB lugs from the dealer, no issues at all.
Also PS the replika rims are very "soft" compared to OEM and I bend 1-2 a season on potholes etc. Since they are just as much or more money to straighten as they are to fix I just keep 1 extra "in stock" in my garage so when I bend a rim I swap it out and order another spare at the same time. So order 5 rims
I thought that we would need cone shaped lugs for Replicas and our OEM lugs would be too short and not sit properly?
Yea I can't say that OEM E63s wheels are durable. Bent two last year, one so bad that you could see the bend in it. Not too worried about straightening them here and there, since the guy here can do it pretty quickly.
But we will see, and thats good to know.
@FastWgn Thank you! I must have missed the offset and didn't realize it was a full square setup. You didn't have to run wheelhub spacers on yours either? Stock oem Lugs?

When dealer was working on car we changed to all MB lugs (black) they were cheap. I have the silver MB lugs for the summer OEM rims. I compared both black and "silver" lugs they are the same length. YMMV but with my replicas I need OEM lugs, the supplied lugs were junk.

Wow - good thing I also (like you) recycle the OEM lugs. Good thing is that since Replika wheels are a perfect fit, there is no need to go aftermarket lugs - curious to why you did that?
I do not recall that my wheels came with new ones.

YMMW. Wouldn't say they are "very soft". I have run the Replikas for two seasons in pothole heaven (Boston area) and knock on wood, no issues so far. Can't recall hitting any MONSTERS, but have hit some solid "Oh ****" ones......
We bend rims alt the time around here, which is why companies like Rimpro are so freaking good at fixing wheels...
Have bend many of crappy Chinese copies (on other cars) before I have now resigned to only buy OEM or decent aftermarket. I put Replika in that latter category.
I do agree 100% on your "order 5" point though. It's very likely you will bend the **** out of one rim over the normal 3-7 years life cycle. And if you don't, you can always sell it on Craigslist to someone who bought 4....

No spacers and the math I discuss above is the result. Works well and allows for tire rotation (and smaller footprint in snow).
Stock lugs.

I just put on my 'winter wheels and tires yesterday', no spacers/adapters with OEM bolts.
Same brand wheels (I am running the Replika 157) as you with the Nokian R3 (255/35/19).
The E63 is my winter car, and I am out of town on and off for the next 5 weeks, so don't want to be caught by a freak snowfall and summer tires. I put summer tires/wheels on for rainy days.
As mentioned they do seem 'softer' as I too have bent one (couldn't feel it, and balanced fine), but when I had a new tire installed after cutting the tired at the BEAD (WTF?!?!?) the installer mentioned that the wheel had a small wobble that was barely noticeable, but I did not notice any vibrations/wobble etc. Have hit some pretty similar impressive potholes with the OEM wheels with no issues, but the one I hit last winter was clearly bad enough to cut the tire at the bead FWIW still using that 'bent' wheel with no issues. For the price of the Replikas would make sense to have a spare around.

I only have silver lugs, and would look weird with black winter wheels, so I bought the "recommended" black lugs from PCM tire - which were not correct.
Best to just buy lugs at Mercedes.
Ok so two of my 4 snow tires are bald. I run the Michelin - Pilot Alpin PA4 - P255/35R19
Should I venture out and try something else? Nokia looks really aggressive, and the CONTINENTAL CONTIWINTERCONTACT TS830 get amazing reviews too.
This is for Sothern Ontario - we can get a lot of snow, but also have days where it's warm.
I've seen quite a few posts in regards to a winter square setup with 8.5" rims all around wrapped in 255/35/19. Calculator says this changed the speedo only about 0.5mph at 60mph.
The tire I want is not available in 255/35 size. However, a 245/40/19 on 8.5" rims all around increases diameter by 1" front and rear (I'm reading it wont rub) and the speedo is off appx 2mph at 60mph.
