Hi All

It's Gareth here. Just made the shift to my very first Mercedes experience after owning Bmw's M3's all of my life.
My last M3 was a E93 that was modded heavily.
My current ride is awaiting delivery. She is a 2011 E63 AMG,neither the AMG Performance Pack and Carbon Pack.

I don't know much about the merc tuning scene, but hope that fellow members will be able to help me various questions that I have regarding the mods I elucidate like to do.

Hi mate

I did not really know about the different models, I was originally looking for a C63 AMG, but when looking at them, I came across the E63 AMG and after sitting in it and driving it, I felt that it was the better machine for my needs.

I upgraded from the c63 amg to the E63 amg and absolutely love this car. The c63 is fast, don't get me wrong, but the power of the E63 is on a whole different level. Plus I'm a big fan of bigger cars.

I was blown away by the comfort of the cabin, and yes agree I like the feeling of space.

Can you guys comment on the W212 interior quality?
I'm still trying to get over the plasticky console and the cloth headliner vs alcantara, recognizing that newer car has better suspension and transmission.
Anyone have idea on how to get over hump?
(I'm coming from S600, but even my w209 CLK55 cab interior feels more expensive).

You need to sit in one. Headliner isn't cloth and the interior is covered with leather.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but most of the 2010-2012 W212 E63s that I've looked at only have cloth roof liners as it was optional, whereas it was standard equipment on the W211 E63s? I think your 2014 has been redesigned for a "richer" interior?
From what I saw, although there's leather on the seats, the plastic pieces surrounding the center console appeared cheap - and the doors panels are the hard plastic vs the padded ones on older AMGs?
As I mentioned, I really want to like it, but trying to reconcile the newer transmission/suspension vs. the interior of the 2008-09 E63s.
