Sorry, but I mis-read my invoice. The 2+ hours included some warranty work they did on my a/c system. The labour to install the badge was 1.1 hours. As well, I can confirm that the part number they ordered was 212-817-07-00, so MB may have revised the part as speculated above.

I called the dealership to order and these are on back order from MB with no ETA. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Got the part... Came in a week... It doesn't have a perfectly flush back where it would press squarely in the grill to adhere to 3m tape... I'll post some pics, perhaps I'll build it up with some epoxy resin. It does wedge in the grill very well that I think it would require very little to keep it secure, but the point of contact should be smooth and flat, and currently it is not

So i think I'm going to epoxy a thin rectangle of black abs plastic to the back of this, let it cure for 24 hours, then use the traditional 3M heavy duty variety double sided foam tape to adhere it to the grill -- that should be MORE than enough, LOL

The rectangle of plastic will make that uneven back section flat and more likely to adhere well to the tape.

$74.00 for this POS plastic badge... wow... LOL

Update: so I just used a strip of LOCTITE power grab dual sided tape -- it was rated between -40 C and 120 C -- I figured right by the hot grill this would be ideal, and I used some JB weld epoxy on the base towards the back of this badge to give me some piece of mind -- should be fine.

When you apply the badge -- it is definitely geometrically shaped to go to a certain location on this grill .. meaning it's beveled a certain way so the position that I have it in seemed to be the sweet spot .. any more to the left it was too loose, and any more to the right it was too tight and stuck out incorrectly... you'll find the spot. I did NOT have those identifying/securing holes on my grill as I'm not cool enough.

Just noticed autockr989's pics of his 2015, and it had the amg badge. Mine arrives around thanksgiving and am wondering if this is still going to be an issue this year. If anyone else picks up a 15, please let us know if the badge is there or not. Thanks.

the AMG grille badge was an ongoing change in 2014 on the E63 to match other products so all 2015's should have the badge... unless MB decides to remove some goodies mid-year like they did in 2014...

This install looks like it would take perhaps 0.05 hours of a tech's time.
Where did you purchase the VHB tape? I just googled it & apparently it's only for commercial use & on sale online. Does Home Depot or Lowes sell this?

I used Sikaflex.
I checked out a badge at the dealership and they aren't fixed very solidly at all.

I put a bead of sikaflex in between the blades on the grill and pushed the badge back onto it.

Hi Peter,

How has the AMG grill badge been? I was thinking of getting one. Looks like about $90 shipped online.

Have you checked with your dealer? They should be able to get you one free of charge. Installation is another story, but never hurts to ask.

I bought this one off ebay for $39. Looks like he's selling them for $29 now. Its for the C63, but is identical to the photos above and came wrapped in all the Mercedes OEM bag and labels. I believe it has 2 holes versus the 3 on the e63, but since you are not drilling holes anyways, it does not matter.

I still need to get this mounted. Got the 30lb 3M extreme mounting tape.

Here is a link. Had to shorten it otherwise ebay makes it super long. http://tiny.cc/kv9giy
