2014 E63 AMG-S is in top 30 on Wikipedias List of Fastest Accelerating Cars
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fastest_production_cars_by_acceleration
In their first table on the page, which is for Fastest 0–100 km/h time or 0–60 mph time, the 2014 E63 AMG-S is tied for 28th place. When you see how many of the cars that are faster are low volume exotics, its a pretty impressive ranking for the E63. The list includes cars back as far as 1994.
Scroll down, and below that table is one by Quarter Mile times. In that table, the 2014 E63 AMG-S does even better as the 23rd fastest car.
Wow. That's an impressive showing for a 4 door 5 passenger luxury car!
BTW, it's amazing for McLaren P1 to achieve 2.6 without the use of AWD (I don't consider Ariel Atom and Caparo as true production cars)

How else can u get 4800lbs to 60 and the 1/4 mile as quick as it does ... 577/590 seems conservative to me
I love the idea of finding ways to improve performance but until I see a head to head test published by a magazine, I'm sticking with stock...other than exhaust enhancements solely for tuning sound even further.

This is why the performance claims for a tune (or any performance upgrade for that matter) mean nothing unless you do a before and after dyno run on the same day, on the same dyno, under the same conditions. Only then do you see the benefits or detriments of the change. Absolute numbers mean nothing -- it is all the comparative changes, but for it to be meaningful, it must be on the same dyno, on the same day and under the same conditions.
I'd like to see some well-documented examples.
I see plenty of "after" dynos, and some 1/4 mile vids, but I can't recall seeing a verifiable before and after done on a track under similar conditions.
I have been lusting after something Italian for a few years now and am sizing my garage development to include a storage lift for a second car. But seeing this list is giving me pause. Would need to be a hell of a machine to be faster than our E63s!
