E63 S Wagon vs. RS6 Denmark Comp! Mar-14
Just found this - interesting comparison and the first I have seen of this kind, although in wet weather.
RS6 wins as all-rounder (thanks to gearing), but E63s is more raunchy...

Stupid comparison, a European 2wd e63s vs an awd Audi in the rain. Yeah, that should be close. apples to oranges. I would love to see a awd e63s vs the same Audi, I think the results will be different.

Ya when I first seen the title I thought this was a newer test than the last one I read in that the E63s was the AWD, that woulda made a huge difference under those conditions and the two cars woulda been really close, they probably would have gave the win to the AWD E63 AMG then. This is old news and a invalid test.

The article clearly states the test was vs. the 4matic and it talks about the AWD distribution, are we reading different articles?

It is a strange article. It says the merc is faster but in the race it isn't? It shows the merc leaving second behind the rs6 on the first angle race, then in another angle it shows the merc leaving first and out front until it brakes when it comes into one lane. Useless article in my opinion. This is the one I thought it was.

I assumed it was that one too which was a joke, but it's not, it's a German Test looks like and written in German which I can't read, it does say it's a 4 matic too. I thought the AWD System on the E63's was not even called 4 matic as it's a different system than on say the E350's which is 4 matic? Anyhow, Unless I can figure out a way to translate that page I'm out of luck reading the review.

The Danish article is very descriptive in how they dislike the E63 AWD in handling and in "February slop" the RS6 is faster. But they point out that in a more reasonable climate the E63 will be faster in a straight line.
They also note that Audi is finally figuring out how to make AWD work well with that much HP and that MB seems to be just starting, with a few scary moments where the 33% of torque for the front really overloaded the front traction.
The AutoExpress video is a little ridiculous comparing the AWD RS6 with a 2wd non-S wagon ....... in the rain. These same folks also couldnt launch a ZR1 to save their lives in a drag race in the dry... something even my crap reflexes can handle.
