Well I'm about to do a rather in depth review of a soon to be high mileage E63 and take advantage of the unlimited mile warranty they now offer on CPO. I've just purchased a CPO 2010 E63 with 68k miles and have extended the warranty out to three years total. I drive about 25k miles a year so this should be interesting. I'd never attempt this without a warranty but what the hell...you only live once right?
I'll post some updates since it seems I'll definitely have one of the higher mileage E's on the board.
I'm saving about $10k versus a 50k mile car. My rationalization is since I already drive a ton, at the end of three years the value of a 125k E63 won't differ much from a 140k mile E63 as I think it'll be at the pricing floor regardless.
Expect to see roof racks and all weather mats as I originally intended to get a BMW X5 but then I got distracted. Woops.
You should be fine, they are reliable cars, just keep up with the service, brake flush, that sort of thing. Mercedes with the warrantees are picky about maintainence. Good luck. At least you don't have turbos to go wrong with the car, that's one of my worries with my 2012 bi turbo.

But you have those dreaded headbolts for the M156 engines. Of course, all turbos eventually wear out and need replacement. I still haven't found an answer on how easy or difficult it is to replace the turbos for the M157.
My understanding is the engine has to come out to replace the turbos, I can imagine the dealer might charge at least 10 grand for the job if not more. But I really believe if the oil is changed at least every ten thousand miles and you take precautions like not revving the motor before shut off and allowing it to idle for a bit and taking it easy when the engine is cold it might be possible to go 200k miles or so before turbo replacement. I got 150K miles out of a buick grand national turbo I had back in the 80's. I guess one never knows though. All I know is on my car I've got around another 4 years of Warrantee left and will probably get rid of the car in around 3.5 years. We shall see what is available in the year 2018, lol. Hopefully 900 hp stock by then, haha.
Everybody told me back then "beware of the turbo, it's gonna cost you, better off with a V8" Well, my car proved them wrong, it was one of the more reliable cars I ever owned and I beat the heck out of that car, it was very fast, especially compared to all the other cars of the '80's.
Arrived on Friday...amazing car! Other than an issue with the bumper (the dealership has agreed to pay for a repaint) everything is better than expected. I appreciate this car more than the C I had before...feels much more solid and not nearly as tail happy.
Nice! I can beat the Grand National. I had a 250k+ mile GMC Syclone. I just kept driving that poor thing. To be fair, I could just change my own oil (and almost anything else) on that truck.
Mileage didnt seem to wear it out. Starting the engine, bumpy roads, and aggressive driving were what took the toll.

Looking good there. What happened to the bumper? Hopefully the repaint is only a small area because aftermarket paint is probably not as durable as the oem paint.

Just a very minor parking lot scrape 99% of people won't notice but bothers me and should have been disclosed. I've had fine experience with bumper repaints in the past...not really a big deal and rear bumper isn't exposed to rocks.
congrats, and GREAT logic on your buying decision.
i'm curious what you think of your brake pedal feel - this was my question on W211 E63, but i think similar brakes?
My brakes worth great, but I'm still not 100% happy w/ the "feel."
My question for everyone here is whether I can have a more linear/firmer brake pedal. Specifically, the 1st half inch or so of the brake travel feels soft/spongy...and then it GRABS. When I play with the pedal by pumping it, I definitely feel it firm up. Therefore, I'm wondering if there's variables that can improve this, ie. brake lines, flushing fluid, etc...
P.S. My CLK55 w/ the 6 piston is much more linear/firm on brake feel by comparison. __________________

Brakes seem fine to me.
I wish it were louder so a resonator delete may be in order.
