Unplanned Service - oil leak near intake manifold
2014 AMG S Wagon and car has less than 3000 miles. Sounds like it will be a big fix. I thought I had a steering pump leak bc left puddle on friends driveway, odorless slick and because I have a slight whine in the steering when making low speed turning maneuvers like parking. Turn out it is a leak in a hard to reach spot. I am curious if the underpan and covers underneath the car were shielding it from view? Glad to have a new car with a warranty. But a little annoyed that it broke.
The good news - get to try out a different MB as a loaner car.
ps I left a nasty oil stain on my buddy's flawless driveway (Aston martin owner) and felt like a dweeb

Wow... Actually just read a 2014 gl63 owner with an oil leak due to "bad valves" per his thread... Sorry for your frustration
On the other hand glad it's getting fixed, what's with the steering whine? I get a periodic heaviness in the steering at slow speeds like turning in parking lots usually when car just started and rpms low... They checked everything and all was normal still does it though

Update - with the AWD systems taking care of a tiny leak means removing a lot more stuff! the good news is I get to drive a blutec GLK for a bit and want to see the MPGs!

"still working on it and more seals came in today, hoping for next week"
I wonder if it is elephant seals or harbor seals examining my AMG wagon?

hopefully it is not a pandemic and just a one off goof up
pretty high performance machine so things happen
*that said I would never want to face an out of warranty service bill that requires this level of disassembly (4Matic)
Can't wait to get it back...maybe they can find me an AMG Loaner

MBWorld Fanatic!
Also "bad valves" is a bit misleading. His description was "crank case valve error or something similar".
A non event.

1/21/15 Update
So glad to have the superwagon back!
Sounded like an extensive job with completely disassembled motor and transmission from body (actually raises body above carriage)

Wow, that was a lot of work. Glad you got her back and running. By the way, how do you have your puddle lights on below the side view mirrors, without having the door open. Maybe I'm just not paying attention at night, but I don't think mine are on with the headlights.

car is running great
Rented a Maserati GHIBLI from National Rent a Car last weekend b/c it was in the special aisle and though it made cool sounds the car was NOTHING compared to the might AMG. probably not news to anyone but...
