News: The 2015 E63 S is Uninsurable Under GEICO's Mechanical Breakdown Insurance
The irony is that GEICO readily insured my 2014 911 Turbo S under that program -- a car costing almost twice as much. They said the mechanical breakdown claims experience on the Porsche is better.
Ugh. Looks like MB's ridiculously expensive ELW is in my future for the car. Best quote that for the 7/100K plan (now the max since September) was $6,400
(sought quote from the usual dealers popular here). Prices on the program basically doubled in the beginning of September.
I checked with the dealership and they told me that GEICO mechanical breakdown insurance pays well and they were happy when a car had it.
Who would you recommend for auto coverage?

I got quotes from the major sellers of ELWs on this forum. The lowest quote from the lady that everyone goes to (without naming her expressly here but everyone here knows who she is). The price quote range I got was narrow (from $6400 to $6700).

Well,...I won't buy my next E63 without an ELW..I drive an 07 E63 and have put on nearly $15k worth of warranty items. Some of the items you can't predict. For example, one of the ribs on my fan belt splintered off into the wiring harness which fried the ECU and other sensors...that repair job was around $7k...Just saying that I will pay for a "piece of mind" about repairs on my next Mercedes.
If you're ever in the market for new auto coverage, they're worth checking out.
