What did you pay for your wheel and tire insurance for your E63 and when did you pay it?

 

$1500; 5 years unlimited miles, covers new tires I buy even if I don't buy from Benz dealer. Bought it a day after taking delivery of the 63 from local Benz dealer...

 

On my sales quote, the 5 year tire and rim insurance is $899.

 

Paid 1000 in dec 12'. Paid for itself 3x over

 

say you curb rash a rim, what happens? do they replace or repair?

 

Well, now I feel like ****. I paid 1850 for 5 years in dec '14. They will repair the wheel, unless it is beyond repair (I'm guessing), and they will buy new tires for any punctures. No tire plugs or repairs.

So if in a year I need new tires I can buy them from Benz or tirerack and Benz will continue to warranty the tires for future damage to the new tires while in the five year window

 

Ah. I guess I never thought about that. I kind of assumed they would cover any tires on the car. But now I'm wondering what happens if I put something different than oem (pirellis) on the car and one blows. Do they give me a Pirelli or whatever tire I had on? Or the cash equivalent to a Pirelli?

 

Every policy may be different I would read the fine print

 

Does your policy cover cosmetic damage/curb rash as well? Dealer offered an additional rider for that.

This is a great deal, particularly in pothole ridden Northeast. I have gone 4 years on my policy with MB, repairing 3 wheels, replacing one Michelin SS, and the car is going in May for a major service and repairing de-lamination on my Black/Steel 5-spoke wheels. This is a 2011 E350 w212, with 2 sets of wheels and tires, all covered. Policy cost me about $1200 in 2010.
I have a similar policy on my 2015 AMG E63S wagon. I also have in on the clear coat and on all glass. I spent about $4k on these extras, including pre-paid maintenance and 100k warranty.

 

You spent $4K on pre-paid maintenance and 100k warranty plus the rest for you 2015 AMG E63S Wagon?

 

That does not seem in line with prices after the Sept 2014 price increase on these items. Post Sept 2014, the 100k ELW alone on the E63 S was over $6000 from the lowest priced dealers

 

I got screwed. Salesman at MB of Greenwich took me for $2600 for 5yr. Assuming same coverage as ^ above. He took me when he told me new rim is $2k. I even paid sticker, but then again it was a special order.

Funny thing none of this ever crosses my mind when I get behind the wheel. Truly an amazing car.

 

As you were on that last post! I went back through my documents and couldn't figure out what cost what. I called the dealer and now understand I got the pre-paid warranty and the Appearance Protection for $4875. The Simonize was an additional $682. The 5 yr 100k ELW was $4750 (which I had in mind was the $4k+ I mentioned in my earlier post.) These were before the dealer gave me a bottom-line discount.
My humble apologies to those who felt they got screwed. BTW, the total for the car with 995 and 997 option, the designo paint and interior and added coverages and Euro delivery was $112,744.
