This isn't a discussion about lag from turbo's....

It's about how long it takes for the transmission to engage and allow our cars to actually move off the line, after they have been held at a complete stop, like at traffic lights or roundabouts.

the c450 is a traditional torque converter and doesn't have the mct throttle tip in delay or jerkiness while in s/s+

Hi
I'm new to this so was wondering if someone can help me out. I had my c220 cdi diesel 58 plate (58k milieage) serviced (A) at Dronsfield independent merc specialist in Greater Manchester. Since the service, I've had issues with the accelation being slow, feel like the power has gone. I'm not too sure if Dronsfield garage have caused this. Can the accelartion be affected after Service A? Can it be fixed and by myself? Do I need to take it back to them? I'm concerned that they'll just flog me off saying it's nothing and it's just me.
Any suggestion please?
Thanks,
K

They don't. I'm sure they have their own set of problems but the week I had the X5 in cali for a road trip I absolutely LOVED every second of it. Will be trading in the GLE for the new X5 refresh and cutting my loses.

Recently purchased a 2014 E63S wagon and the lag feels the same as it did in my 2012 X5M. I fixed that lag with a SB and am going to do the same with this as well. Though it doesn't completely take it away but it does improves it by 70%.
I liked it so much that i installed one in my 2002 E55 as well.
It's not actually a lag, it's a throttle response lag which is what a sprint booster helps with.

Getting Fidelity warranty, so have to be careful with the tune and when you have a 17 year old at home looking for excuses to take the car out, I'd wait at least a year on that.

Probably not the car I would be concerned about, maybe a 17 year old with a 550plus horsepower car and his and others safety. If I had a car like that to drive when I was 17 either I or car wouldn’t be around for long.

I blew my mother’s water pump on her Ford Taurus racing people on I-95. I owe my life to 110mph limiters.

Does a ECU tune solve the problem? I am considering to get Renntech...
OR,
Sprintbooster helps more or Pedal commander more?

No, it's more to do with how the transmission works on these cars and is the main reason why the E63 will never be able to put down the same times as an RS7 with similar mods. Just have to accept it as one of the quirks of the car.

So a TCU tune?

How about the pedal commander for those who has it installed?

I think....I think....the only somewhat successful report from a TCU that kinda address this is from RENNtech. And even then, it's only an improvement - the issue is still essentially there. Many have tried down the years...and most have given up. It's a nice, powerful family car....but it's not the best at drag racing.

Sprint Booster on my wife's Mini JCW was just too herky-jerky. Sprint Booster on the E63 works great...I don't even think about the launch lag anymore.

What settings do you use? I bought one a while back but haven't yet installed it.

I've settled on a mid-green setting. Feels normal but cuts the lag waaaay down.
