Can't speak for "most guys", but that would be a bad bet against my experience. Except for little errands around town, I almost always have big items in the "trunk". Plus we drive loaded from Vermont to Florida twice a year, weekly shopping to Costco for our hotel/restaurant, hauling grandkids with skis, all the schlepping that one does AND I DO IT IN ONE OF THE FASTEST, HOTTEST CARS IN THE WORLD!!!

I've got to comment on the dichotomy between wagons and non-wagons:
My first few cars when a freshman at U of Colorado were British sports cars, namely 2 XK-120's and one TR-2. It was the 60's and all I cared about was car, cruising, girls. Got married and kept one XK-120 and got a Volvo 1800s. In six years there was a junior in the picture, and I traded the 1800 for an AMC wagon(used). My wife sold the Jag Went from there to other AMC's, Country Squire, Renault Espace (in Italy), minivan, Ram Van, all practical, great family rides (did sneak a Mas Biturbo in between). Then fell for MB wagons..you see with the early sports cars I had an identity, with the subsequent wagons it was all utilitarian. But the '99 210 gave me back some lost identity. And it only got better this year-the AMG wagon has made up for the lost Jag and all the things in between. I am going to have to be a lot older to end up in a sedan, however hot.

Took my wagon on track just touring ,during our PCA club race weekend, and everyone wanted to know. What the hell is that? Not a serious track car, but goes like hell and pulled several GT3s in the straights and turns. Great cars

I have the 2004 e55 amg wagon best thing ever, blend into the background and pick of super cars. Im looking forward to getting the 2014 e63s wagon in England we don't have the 4 wheel drive option

As the owner of both a 2014 E63S Wagon and a 2011 GT3 RS, and a PCA racer, I can tell that while you might keep up with a GT3 on the straights, if you were catching them in the corners, the GT3 driver wasn't trying very hard.

Only 5 sec difference in lap time at Laguna between those two cars with Pobst driving and a 1500 lb weight difference. Not bad. Remember, this was touring and RA does allow the wagon to stretch its legs a bit. I have been running GT3s since 2004 so I know what your talking about, but the wagon is one amazing car.

1. As a daily driver, how loud is it really? Do you get used to the noise and vibration?
2 questions about noise? whats this about vibration?

2. For wagon owners, do you think the wagon is louder inside than the sedan? I'm wondering if being open inside instead of having a trunk might amplify the sound some? Don't get me wrong, I love the sound. I'm just trying to be as cerebral as possible about something that is clearly an emotional purchase, lol.

3. Realistically, how is it in the snow? I would put snow tires on it and I notice in the threads that it seems like no one has much trouble with it as long as it has winter tires, but its still a little hard to tell what the general consensus is about this.

The vibration is just from the engine/exhaust. I'm coming from a BMW that has a very smooth and quiet power delivery. I was just curious to know if it was something that people noticed or if it bothered anyone after a while. I didn't actually expect that it would be an issue, I was just covering my bases. Looking at the replies it appears I was correct.

Huh? There's no vibration to get used to, even compared to the 335 the 63 bi turbo is a smooth operator.

I drove my 335 to the dealer to test drive the E63S Sedan, there is a very big difference in feel. The E63 is much more visceral and the rumble of the V8 and the exhaust do transfer into the cockpit much more so than the 6 in the 335 (which stays quiet and buttery smooth most of the time). That's definitely not a knock against the 63--in fact it's a plus with a performance car in my book--but I have a very young child and was just wondering if anyone had noticed any complaints or gotten tired of that slightly more visceral feel of the car after a while. I guess this is either something that most buyers don't notice or I did not describe it well enough. Either way it seems to have really confused everyone here, so we'll just scratch it. It wasn't a significant concern anyway and certainly didn't keep me from ordering the car!

The rumble from the car is a plus with the kids. I have 3 (8, 3 and 9 months) and they enjoy it. It makes them more prone to fall asleep! In fact I got my car the day after my last daughter waw born and did my break in period at night getting her asleep!


This car (E63 wagon) is for me the perfect combo of a supercar dresed in a family hauler. Nothing beats humiliating a proper sports car with all the family and gear on board (Plus a thule box on top).
