Who's in it for the long haul?

This is really bringing me back to early days of high school. I wanted a supra, 300zx with t tops, or the 3000gt vr4. Rx7 was on the cusp. Ended up getting/ being able to afford the 3000gt, but the SL model. I still have a special place in my heart for all three of those cars though.

wow that 300zx looks in fantastic condition! well done!
I've had my E63 for almost 5 weeks now....I really like it. I like the fact that it's more docile than my old E55 but it's also more forceful at the top end of the rev range. Sure the midrange could do with a bit more beef and the downshifts are a little jerky, but meh at least it's not a BMW.
I'd like to say I'll have this car for around 2 years at the least...but who knows what's around the corner in life eh, good or bad.

Very good analogy ^^^
I do like the fact that the E63 is more economical though as well and if you want to just drive slowly and cruise, it can do so at 900rpm whereas the E55 would allow a minimum of like...1400rpm? I can't remember exactly.
One things for sure though - it handles way better than the E55 and that is worth it's weight in gold to me. It really performs well when the suspension firms up.

Well the E55 was forced to go with the 5-speed, as the 7-speed trans at the time couldn't hold all that torque -- so yeah gearing was pretty spaced out and 12-15mpg was the norm in the city. I think I got into the low 20s high way cruising but those occurrences were far and few in between
