Pre Owned '14' Pricing

I'm out of warranty on my '06' E55 this November and I'm thinking a 2014 E63 would be a good replacement. I rarely buy new and this will be my fourth AMG. Only have 75K on the 55 and it looks and runs like new but the lack of a service plan plus the desire for something else is strong.

So, what do the experts think a decent used 2014 E63 can be had for? I've been watching the Trader and there aren't that many available. I suspect that many will be coming off leases soon and selection will improve and prices will go down a bit.

Anyone getting ready to trade yours in might want to contact me as I'm a cash buyer at wholesale or trade in value.

E63 or E63S? Lots of E63S's available -- I picked one up about a week and half ago. Check cargurus, autotrader, and the CPO website. Right now, dealer quotes put the E63S @ $86k for a CPO with a good amount of options (MSRP around $110k).

Exactly what he said

Hertz has used e63 non S available for about $70-75k

Tune THAT engine and it'll be as strong as a tuned e63S engine but you're like me... You want warranty coverage

I picked up one of the Hertz e63's for $75k; the factory warranty is still in place, so the only thing you have to worry about is any existing/non-warranty damage.

Maybe next time around I'll do CPO/new, but for now this let me get into the 2014 E63 at a price I liked.

Really happy so far. I haven't done a tune, per Peter's point to make it S comparable, and the car is still tons of fun to drive. A little too fun sometimes.

Yeah there were a decent amount for sale even when I was ordering mine but none had the options I was looking for - as for pricing $86k on a 1.5 mode year old car with a $110k MSRP is not bad. Depreciation just under 22% is pretty good considering average new car depreciation, it just seems like a lot because we are talking about cars with high MSRP http://www.edmunds.com/car-buying/ho...fographic.html

The car itself is great and I think an excellent replacement for an E55 as your going into another torque monster, only with more power, more torque, and more traction

Most of us don't Need LSD or the other accoutrements of the S model ... And the bump in power is not going to be felt in day to day driving

Nice find ... Was the car in good shape?

moar...moar everything

That Edmunds link is entertaining, gotta love the broken piggy bank. Multiply everything in that page by x4 to get to E63S numbers

Yeah.

Although, while my E63 was meant to be only a daily driver (I historically don't track/race cars), it's capable of so much more, that now I'm researching tracks in the area to go really have fun at.

And if that becomes a habit, then I might end up with a tune. But we'll see.

Yeah. Everything engine/transmission/etc. wise is great. I've had two issues:

1) A few minor exterior scrapes, but most are only noticeable when I'm cleaning the car, and getting very up close to everything. This was expected though, and not a big deal. I heard about the CQuartz via one of sdg's threads, so will get all that touched up if/when I get around to it.

2) Slightly more "wtf" was that the tech at my local dealer (I bought the car out of state, had it shipped in) noticed my bumper's been painted. Which did not show up on the car fax. Thankfully nothing is wrong structurally/etc., just two broken plastic clips where it attaches to the radiator. But still a bit of a scare.

All said, I have zero regrets. It's 3 months later, and I still annoy my wife by randomly interjecting "I really like my car" into daily conversation.

Yes, I'm going to miss the 55 but I'm really excited to get the 63 since everyone seems to be very happy with theirs. Went out and drove the RS7, S6 and S5 Audi as well as the new M3. Not even close with the exception of the RS7 but I'm not a fan of the hatch back styling.

Anone want to sell their E63?

Power bump probably not an issue with the power these cars already have, and I'm assuming these cars all have AWD which makes LSD missing less noticable. Its very noticable on my 2011 when one wheel starts spinning which is pretty much every time I nail the throttle from a start.

I would take a used 2014 e63 non S over a 2014 e550 4 matic in a heartbeat

It would likely cost about $10k more for similar miles

I started on that e550 path (rwd though). Also test drove SL550. At the end of the day though, it's tough to stray from those 3 letters...

Agreed... When I sealed the deal on a custom ordered 2014 e550 ... All I could think about was the $30k that separated me from the amg ...
