Car Will Not Shift into Park
My car will not shift into park when I push the P button. The only way it will shift into park is if I stop the car, turn it off, keep my foot on the brake aand open the door. The anti-rolling protection then shifts into park.
I took it to Mercedes-Benz of Rockville Centre and they told me the car needs a new shifter. The shifter will be in tomorrow morning and I will have the part replaced tomorrow. In the meanwhile, I am able to drive my car just fine knowing how to trick the car into shifting into park.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? They told me that one CLS63 also had the issue but that's it.
Been reported several times on this forum and looks like you got bit by this bug is well, hope you get this fixed soon as this is a very problematic issue

once you started it you had like 3 seconds to shift otherwise you'd have to turn the car off and start over. once you shifted into reverse, you couldn't select drive without turning the car off and on again. same thing worked for getting park by just coming to a stop and opening the door. kinda embarrassing having to start the car like 4 times just to get out of a tight spot

Maybe that's a 2014 thing
I just checked again. When I brake park and hit stop, it goes into neutral. It'll only go into park when I open my door. Anyone with preface E63 does this or I need to visit my dealer. Seems kind of odd. Many thanks guys.

Brake hold requires you to rapidly and deeply depress the brake until the dash says BRAKE HOLD
Is it me or I the hold feature does not always engage. I do the double pump fast and most time it'll engage, some times it wouldn't

You don't need to double pump... Just rapidly and deeply ONCE depress the brake pedal and that should get hold
Having the Hold light display is a great future to have to park, but I doubt if us guys let alone gals are stuck in a situation where the P button doesn't work/engage will remember to have the hold light display on before we hit stop to park the puppy. Again I think Mercedes are pretty smart of making so many way to go into park without actually hitting park, put I was trying to put myself in that sisutation to see how I would react.
