2015 E63S First mod: ECU tune
Well I finally decided to do my first mod to the car. I've only had it for 3 months so why not right? Based on a lot of reading I am getting an ECU tune from eurocharged in Houston Texas. That should put the car just shy of 700HP. Removal was simple, no tools needed. Pop off the carbon fiber cover, pull up on the ECU, and remove the harness. Took me longer to wrap it in bubble wrap and box it. They promised to have it back to me tomorrow so I'm making due in a Durango rental for the next day.
I'll post results after I get the car back.
and as we all know mods are addicting, so what should i be thinking about doing next?

Same here, I guess I'm less of risk taker than I was when I was younger, it sure would cool having a tune and cutting the quarter mile in 11.5 or so, oh well, guess I can always do a tune later.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Ya, I've kinda thought about that too. One thing I love about the wagon is it fly's under the radar screen a lot. But with a tune/downpipes and loud mufflers it would be a lot more conspicuous. I'm amazed though, no tickets in 2.5 years now of ownership. Too bad there is no simple way to just up the boost a little bit without a tune for those times when needed, like some kind of control under the dash or something.

How about a Rebellion piggyback? It's easily revesible, adds a dyno proven 60 hp and makes the car a bit livelier. Plus the price dropped since I got one

With all this speed, a good radar detector is probably the way to go. Just got the Passport 9500ci with the Mercedes Command interface installed, and the system is pretty neat. Everything is hidden except the laser shifters up front, which look like some sort of stock distronic sensor to an untrained eye, and the controls are done via the steering wheel buttons. The display is integrated to the audio section of your in dash display. This has saved my bacon twice already.

ECU received and installed. I can't believe the difference. Car is responsive and the acceleration is addictive. $1300 well spent on an already awesome car. It's too bad that Mercedes holds back the performance, they should tune these right out of the factory. Oh well.

I emailed them and that was the price the owner Jerry gave me. I saw the website price when I was looking for ECU removal instructions, but hey I didn't complain. Ask him, I'll bet he will do it for that. He was pretty communicative and answered all my questions.

The Passport 9500ci is their built-in unit and not a normal windshield mounted detector. Mid-City Engineering makes a Mercedes interface kit that costs extra on top of the detector. Installation took a day. Dropped the car off in the morning and picked it up the following.
