Well, I've all but given up trying to find a new AMG Wagon any idea's? Anybody?
I'm trying to avoid ordering a 2015/16 E63 AMG wagon, I do want to trade in my 2012 Wagon. I've searched the country, a few dealers show them in stock but they really are not in stock, I think by law they have to list them for sale for customs purposes or something. I've had bad experiences with ordering before and will not do it, so it's either a slightly used new one or nothing I guess. I still have a few years of extended warrantee left on my 2012 so can keep driving it. I'm looking for something with light colors and light interior. One thing that does bother me with the newer one's is the dash is always gonna be black no matter what color the interior is? On my 2012 the dash is a nice light gray which is cooler in the hot Florida sun, wonder why they changed it so you always had to get the same color dash? Any ideas on any of this anyone? Am I bound to keep having to drive my 2012 because the only way to get a new one is to order one? I guess if I check long enough a used one with under 5K miles is bound to come available.

seems as if you still have time and maybe one will pop up on the market when you least expect it! What happened on your original configuration?
I've configured 4 and only had one instance where something was incorrect: illuminated door sills were omitted despite having ordered and paid for them! Didn't keep that car long anyway........
I waited 4.5 months which was crazy and then finally just cancelled the order and bought a used one. I worry about ordering one and waiting all that time and having it get damaged and then your out of luck too, I've heard stories like that.
Like you said, time is on my side. I'm going to really keep my eyes open on ebay, craigslist and autotrader nationwide for dealers that might get one in. The only option I have right now is a black one with red interior and I have feeling they want near msrp for that one. I did put in a lowball bid for it but they never even responded to that. I kinda want what I want though and unless it was a killer deal I'm sticking to it and that is a light colored one, light interior, Distronic, hopefully the 5 spoke wheels, and wood grain interior trim, not crazy about the black piano plastic. I'm thinking the parktronic and camera option is a good one to get too, but I hear they may have discontinued that surround camera option for some reason.
I would just much rather rather get one off the lot. I'm really keeping my eyes open for a Certified one with say around 5k miles in the colors I want. Sometimes people buy these cars and realize they wanted a S class or Suv or something else, that's what I'm looking for. The other option is somebody that needs the cash really bad and gives me their 2014 up for my 2012 plus cash. I think I might run a ad like this. Especially with the stock market debacle some might be over their heads pretty soon and this would be a way for them to get some money and still be driving a great car with a 3 year warrantee left on it.
there are no '15/'16 wagons on the lot. i mean.. seriously, how stupid would a dealer have to be to order one of these pink elephants and just let it sit in stock for months? are you being obtuse? or obstinate?
I have a standing offer for $60K for your car, which is WAY more than what the dealership is gonna offer you. just go ahead and order that '16.
I don't think it would stupid at all to stock these cars. Infact I found a dealer yesterday who said they have 3 on order to Stock, they know it's a great car. Thanks for the offer, no way would I be without this car for half a year or whatever it took to order a new one. I definatley will not be ordering one though. I'm looking into a used 2014 UP model and I'm sure sooner or later I'll find one. I really think I'll get 60K on trade in on this car, if I were to retail it I'd want 65K with the 3 year warrantee, that alone cost me 4 grand and I have all new tires on the car. I would not retail it though, I use to be a car dealer and vowed to never ever retail a car myself again, getting too old for that.
Are you in FL? Pembroke Mercedes is showing two in stock, one silver, one black. They have actual pictures of the cars and they have been up for awhile.

Thanks for the info guys. I've found that even when ordered the cars end up listed with pictures and all even though they are sold and they stay up a long time. I almost think they do this to try and raise interest in the cars even though they don't have them. That Car in Palm beach, it does not have Distronic and that's one thing I want. Plus it's a weird story with that car. The Dealer got the car last December at 1600 miles, the car still shows 1600 miles now over 6 months later. Obviously no takers on that car, they were asking 99,700 for the car and dropped it down to 97,800. It's a strange Color combo too. The car is nearly a year old and the sticker was 104K for the car, heck the person who bought it new probably paid less than 97K for it. I find when you do find a existing car there are strange issues. I have little bit of interest in a 2014 in Georga for 89K, but it's that Grey Matte Color and that tends do weird things like get permanent stains that don't come out and that sort of thing, plus one of the hubs has real bad rust on it, makes me wonder if the car was in a flood. If I was selling that car first thing I'd do is put it up on the lift and wire brush down the rust and repaint the hub.

It is rare to find a new E63 S wagon in dealer stock--especially one that is light colored with light interior. Almost like mission impossible. Although you probably don't want to order, from what it sounds like you probably will have to. I hooked at least two members here with E63 S wagon orders at big discounts with dealers. They do take a long time to be produced of course.
I think you are right sdg, can you send me a pm with what your suggestion is for ordering at a big discount? I hope to get at least ten grand off msrp.

It wasn't right but the wagons are just so rare and when dealers do put them in stock they are generally white or black if not special ordered.
I just snatched this one up. I too have been looking for a wagon and found the hunt frustrating. Even though it doesn't have any options aside from the wheels and night styling package, I'm very happy with it. BTW the dealer, Chariots of Palm Beach, were the best I have ever dealt with
Congrats Ced. What is the story behind that car, why did is sit around so long, looks like it was for sale for a long time too, that was one thing that scared me. Somebody must have bought it and passed away or something I guess, an estate sale or something looks like. The main reason I did not look at this car was it did not have distronic.
I was concerned as well. The story that was given to me was their wholesaler purchased the vehicle for his wife who quickly found the car intimidating and refused to drive it. I do believe this as different employees gave me the exact same story when asked.
Why the car sat so long? They didn't know either. They said there were many inquiries and test drives, but no offers. They seem to think that because the car was not well optioned and distrionic was a very common concern for perspective buyers, that was the possible reasoning. Ultimately, who knows.
I've driven about 100 miles and the car runs perfectly thus far. I did tell them that you were on the lookout for a well optioned wagon and if they come across one to give me a ring.
Yes, I liked this car a lot too. My wife and I were considering driving up to look at this one and a matte white one at another dealer in GA, but logistics and timing just don't work right now. Definitely a beautiful car and very well optioned.
Thanks, I may just be hanging onto my 2012, I just don't know if I can justify paying at least 40 grand more for a newer one at this point, the one I have is in perfect shape, but you have the AWD which is a plus over my 2 wd one. If you want to race never winter and are up around Bradenton way that would be cool to see what a stock for stock one would do. I think you'd nip me by around 2 tenths of a second or so in the quarter.
Ya, know what's strange about the one I put the link too, is there is a huge amount of rust around the right rear wheel hub, it looks like crap. If I were that dealer that the first thing I would have fixed as it makes the car look like it was in a flood or something, lol. That kinda concerned me otherwise I might have pursued this car more. I dunno how crazy I am about the matt gray finish either, I guess it can stain easily and look bad.
I can verify Mercedes Pembroke in FL has one on their showroom floor. Iridium silver, carbon fiber all around and inside, titanium wheels, looks beautiful. I saw it tonight.
Finding a non black interior is very hard on any E63. My last C63 had the porcelain white interior. It looked really sharp, but really started to wear on the drivers seat and showed lots of wear.
