Differences between 2014, 2015, 2016 E63s?
Hi,
Is there a resource that someone can point me to that describes the differences between the post-facelift W212 models (particularly the wagons, if possible)?
I know the major things (engine, body style) are the same, but wasn't sure if there were Nav unit changes, surround view camera changes, different wheel options, etc.
Thanks!

I don't think much of a difference other than different Colors. The all are AWD in the states, 577HP, have the Distronic with Steering assist. I don't think the '14's had the Stereo surround Camera option but I could be wrong, maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can chime in.

2015 added folding mirrors, and black window trim on night pkg, and black roof rails on wagon with night.
2016 I think replaced palladium with a darker gray not sure the name.
There may be other changes but that's all I can think of right now. Pretty minor stuff.

Anyone know if the MCT programming changed at all between 2014 and 2016?
Selenium is the name of the new grey (slightly darker) -- I have it on mine, looks pretty nice imo. Also, the navigation software is updated on the 2016's. Menus look a little nicer, etc.

Yeah, this is very important to me. I recall renting an E63 for 2 days a couple of years ago, and the transmission sometimes annoyed me but I don't remember if it was a 2013 or 2014. When I test drove a 2015 a month ago, I didn't notice any problems with the transmission, but I don't know if it was just too short of a test drive.
Anyone have a concrete list?
Dealer says the exhaust profile changes. For example, drove a 16 GLE63 and it barked and popped more than my last C63. He said the 16 E63s are the same. Much more aggressive than my 14.

You can do same on your 14' E63. If you ask a dealer to update Software of your ECU + fuel injection system.
16' E63 has new comand with few more features and new keyboard on it.
That is it.
I'm not saying the exh is different, physically, just saying that I'm up to date per the dealer, and def no audible diff. Has anyone owned/heard for themselves the 14 and the 16, and perhaps can confirm from experience?

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ECU dyno tune; EDOK TCU tune; BB intakes; sprintbooster
I have 2014 with park assist and surround view 360
Also I have the latest sw for the mct and tcu and Ecu
Everyone with a 2015 e63S comments on the same jerkiness in the mct (stop and go) that 2014 cars have, you can pretend that it's better in the 2015+ if it makes you feel better

Dealer swears my sw is up to date. After a recent update, I did notice slightly quicker shifts. Definitely no sound diff, nothing like that 16 GLE.

Crackles and poples that you want to hear only come from particular set up of software , that result on over run( overfueling ).

Hmm... I never noticed the overruns on my test drives of the E63. It was immediately apparent during my test drive of the new C63 (and Cayman GTS and 500 Abarth).
Agreed! Just drove the new C63s, it cracked and popped a ton, loved it! But ended up going with a 2015 E63s. Going to check with the dealer if my software is updated.
It is called Selenite, not Selenium, and it replaces Palladium silver for 2016 E class cars. The Comand is upgraded on the '16. I can attest that shifting on the '16 is very smooth. The dealer from whom I purchased mine had one new 2015 E63 S in Palladium silver that I was considering. I drove the '15 and then my '16. The '16 seemed noticeably smoother for some reason and that helped me make my decision. They had a smokin deal on the '15 ($10k off sticker) but in the end I still chose the '16.

$10k off a 2015... Wow ... Should be at $20-25k by now for leftover 2015's

It's so strange, my car was in for the 40K mile trans service a month ago or so and ever since the trans acts so much better plus the engine feels a lot more responsive, my car is a 2012, but they must have done some kind of update as the car drives so much better and throttle response feels much more crisp than before.
