E63 S with Muffler delete video
hey guys,
for those of you who asked for this sorry for the delay been in and out of town. anyways heres the best video i could get of my E63 with the mufflers deleted, straight pipes put in. Resonator is still in!! still deciding what i wanna do with that. I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU WATCH THIS VIDEO WITH SOME GOOD SPEAKERS AS THAT WILL GIVE YOU THE BEST QUALITY.
Enjoy!!

I highly recommend doing this aswell. I first got the AMS cat back and while everything loooked great, it was still way to quiet for me.
Now using the AMS cat back ive fabricated some muffer deletes and have staright pipes from the cats back. Thing sounds super mean, finally have some crackles and pops when I let off throttle .
still waiting to do the downpipes tho

yes i highly recommend doing this, no doubt the most cost effective way to get the most sound! i spent like $220 on this, and my friend with an F10 M5 bought an RPI full exhaust for way over 5k im sure and i am very close to being just as loud. WITH JUST A MUFFLER DELETE!!

outside sounds... at the track
Here is a clip from last Friday night at Royal Purple Raceway, here in Houston.
The car is stock, stock, stock with only the two mufflers deleted.
Downpipe and Cats are stock, and the X-pipe is still installed.
I love the sound now. Its louder than before, but not arrogantly. There is no drone on the highway and conversations are still okay.
While this sound is WOT, I like it even more when off idle and navigating a parking garage. All I hear is the turbo spool underlying a deep low growl.
Its awesome and the cheapest mod you can do to these cars.

I'm wanting to add electric cutouts at the piping bends before the mufflers to have the ability to be stock or without mufflers at the push of a button
brutus_tx are you saying yours has a resonator delete as well?

I ran my fastest at 11.8 @ 120 in 93 degree temps, with all my 10 runs in the 11.8 to 11.9 range and 119 to 120 mph trap.

I am stock downpipes, stock cats, stock crossover, even stock tune and intake... the only thing I deleted was the resonators (mufflers) at the exhaust tips...

Watch the video again and concentrate on the lights.
I stage deep and enter RS mode. With my foot on the brake I wait until the tree starts to light.
I immediately mash the gas peddle as soon as I see the tree light and release the brake as the second light goes out.
Its takes timing and focus. You don't have a lot of time between flooring the gas and releasing the brake.
By releasing after the second light goes out I've been able to use the RS delay to my advantage. Once it turns green the car is just starting to roll out.
My best has been a RT of 0.18, but the norm is usually around 0.2 to 0.3.
I don't think I can improve on this as my reaction time to seeing the tree light up is what it is. I don't have enough time to floor the gas, build boost and release the brake any quicker.
I hope this helps.
I review this video occasionally to practice my timing. I pretend I'm in the car and watching the lights. As the tree lights, I floor it. After the second light goes out I release my brake foot. Try it and get comfortable with the timings, then take your car to the track and try it for yourself and let us all know how you did please.

As long as you don’t touch the gas until ready to do so, but keep your foot firmly on the brake, it should stay in RS mode indefinitely. You so much as touch that gas before your ready however and it will time out if you don’t release the brake within 3 or so seconds. Try it at the next traffic light.

Correct. After confirming RS with the right paddle, as long as you keep your foot on the brake and don’t touch the gas, the car will stay in RS Mode all day as long as you don’t touch the gas. Once you do though, you’ve only got around 3 seconds to release the brake. Any more time than that and it will abort the launch.
Practice makes perfect.
