E63 S with 15k miles needs new brake pads

Well my 2015 E63 S with 15k miles, which I picked up in January, needs new brake pads. Rears are gone and fronts are more than 50 percent worn. About $600 for fronts and $500 for rears. Car has never been tracked.

Usual wear or typical?

Seems quick to me...what are others normally getting out of these pads? How are your rotors?

As for the pads the rears are available from pelican parts website for $318 for both left and right pads. They list the fronts at $441 for front pads.

That seems pretty soon to be replacing. Typically, fronts wear quicker than the rears as well. Assuming the vehicle is still under warranty, I'd bring it into the dealer and see what they have to say.

Ya, that does sound quick for pads, I've got 42K miles on my 2012 and they are only half worn or so.

Sounds right to me I went through front brakes about the same mileage. Also replaced tires at 12,000 miles . Depends how hard you drive. I know you don't baby it . Also remember "stability control" will eat up pads as well

2012- you need to brake deeper my friend 42k and half used ?

Same for me as well, rear pad wear might be attributed to TC intervention. Drove mine more aggressively in first 15k miles and the rear pad life showed (still drove it like a C63 with a philosophy of 'steer it with the rear'). My '14 now has 40k and on its 3rd set of pads all around, rotors are fine.

i drive them all, fast and hard
i am at 35000 miles, in 3.5 yrs, and the rears on one side are squeeking .....odd for rears to go first than front
but i guess the fronts are much bigger and that may be why

i am spirited driver, but i dont know if my wear is typical either

isnt the car supposed to have on dash sensor warning light??

Yes, I think you get a message on the dash when you need pads. I think a lot of the nannies wear pads faster, like TC and lane tracking assisted, one reason I don't use either of those, only turn on lane tracking assist when I'm tired as a little extra assurance. I tend to let off the gas a lot way before traffic lights, in sport mode the down shifts help slow the car, who knows maybe I'll get 100K out of my pads, although tires are only good for 12 to 14K miles with me, so I guess I'm not driving too much like a old lady.

Ouch, prices seem steep, does that include Labor?

If not, I would shop online at parts.com or Autohauz...

You turned off traction control most of the time? That's is the one thing I would hesitate in turning off completely--I leave it mostly in sport mode.

A lot of the time I do if the roads are not wet, can't get the tires to spin anyhow even with the traction control off. Don't ask me why, the car has no codes and seems plenty fast, I guess next time I'm at the dealer I'll mention it, I don't think there's a issue though, otherwise I'd have a check engine light.

I drive with it off 100% of the time. With AWD I don't feel its necessary for daily use.

Consider yourself lucky... I have a 2012 with 20K miles and just had to replace pads and rotors.
