My 2012 Rwd Cls63 dyno'ed 580-590rwp dynojet on a Renntech tune only.
Ran 11.6 at the track with almost bald tires. Very poor 60ft. 1.8/1.9 Just added Rado catless downpipes today. Hopefully going back to the dyno tomorrow and the track this week..
New tires, + Downpipes.. I'll report back results just for data.

so what has to be done to get to 10's ? my buddy ran 10.9 in his CLS 15 with only DP's and tune . E63 is heavier , ok , but still what has to be done ?

very expensive car I have a dyno and I do not fool with the dyno with my 55, get a wide band log afr on the street along with timing and act. Once you get that sorted out then strap it down.

As to your last question yes! This is the biggest problem with an otherwise amazing car. I hate it and it can be dangerous

I don't think anything fixes it. That situation seems to get the transmission completely confused as to what to do. There are many threads on the problem

from what i understand AMS's 10.85 @129 was a canned tuned (dp and exhaust too)

Weistec has a valve body and TCU mod that greatly reduces this hesitation. I recently had this done on my AMS tuned car and can report that the throttle response is much improved. Throttle is still not as fast as the BMW DCT, but it's close especially from a stop.

I don't know why weistec isn't up to par with ams. Shouldve went with my gut and got ams instead of the weistec.

Honestly I don't think it's your tune, because if you look at their 0 to 60 foot launch it's much better than yours, so if you got your launch the same as theirs you would be pretty close to 11 seconds flat

Other than that you're gaining speed from each of the marks pretty decently and your horsepower this really where it should be considering you're on a Mustang Dyno

I believe the track conditions were different for each of those runs, but if you look at the mile-per-hour the AMS turbo alpha 9 package is 6 mph faster than their tune in downpipe alpha 7 package ... That's pretty significant

I hope thats the case. When I ran pre-tuned (stock s amg) doing the same launch control etc i was hitting 11.6 all day, with the tune its .2 improvement. Im going try again in a couple weeks, this time im going try runs on stock tires and 20" wheels as well. Ams had some 20's when they ran that 10.8 i believe.

+1. Love the new TCU upgrade. I don't know if the throttle responds is different between AWD and RWD, but with my TCU upgrade. I launch with no lag from a full stop and believe me, I have tested serval times again very fast cars. I don't know if it's my imagination, but my e63 is overall faster after the TCU upgrade. Definitely worth the $.

I'm sorry that you feel that way and don't mean to rub it in, but AMS really transformed my RWD e63 into a rocket and a very confident street sedan against 95% of the street legal cars on the streets.

Really hope you get it sorted out with Weistec.

The Alpha 9 package plus the TCU upgrade, plugs and BMC filters runs very confident with the big boys on pump gas. Took a brand new P85 to the cleaners.

Nope. I don't believe AMS even makes a TCU module.

My TCU is from Wesitech.

What was the cost or steps on installing this? Or overall cost with parts and labor if you don't mind saying it

The cost for me is around $1,600 including tax and shipping for the TCU. The installation is as simple as removing the TCU module and send it to Wesitec and once they do what they need to do, it is sent back to you just like ECU upgrade. It cost me only $100 through my dealer friend to do all of this so my total cost was $1,700.

So for car savvy guys, I imange it is pretty simple and straight forward to remove and reinstall the TCU.

I asked my SA manager to take it for a drive before I picked it up to comment what he thought about the TCU responds and he said wow this is how a AMG supposed to shift.
