I have installed a kit in my 2012 CLS63 couple of days ago, the install is straight forward and takes maybe 30-45 mins tops.
The aluminium spacers are high quality and fit as the filters.
So far i have noticed that the throttle is way more responsive , i haven`t had a chance to open it up yet , the roads are full of muck left over from winter.
I've installed a week ago. Install takes less than 10 minutes on a 2012 E550, very very easy. At the time I had my ECU flashed with Speedriven, so the car moves out. Well made kit. Doesn't make the turbos audible. Still quiet.
+1 for black. Can this setup use a factory air filter? If so, has it been tested with factory filter?
Don't know about the color but it comes with the filter anyway. This car does not have a MAF sensor so you can soak the filter in crisco and not have the associated driveability problems (obviously I am exaggerating here)
I recently installed my kit but I ran into a little problem, when I was removing the bolt where the engine cover grommet sits it stripped and Ive been unable to find the part number for this bolt, if any one could help me I would really appreciate it.

The picture of the Renntech unit looks nice. Did you replace the Renntech unit with the UPD spacer kit?
If you did I would be interested in your Renntech unit.
I was lazy to go and take an actual picture, so I dug up one from google that showed the part, sorry sir.
