Anybody tried these new Continental tires yet on the 212?

Tired of replacing tires every year. These have a 560 wear rating and would probably get 3 years out of these.

Not a fan of A/S tires. I had a set of ExtremeContact DW (summer variant of the DWS) on my TurboX and really loved them. But I also really hated the Conti's that came on my C63 (ContiSportContact 3 if I remember). I guess it sometimes is a matter of bad compatibilty between car and tires (the 255 rear tires on the C was a big negative factor).

I have the Continental DW on my Jaguar XJR and love them. I also have about 1,500 miles on a set of the OEM Continental Sport Contact on my 14 CL 600 and for F.S., they are almost bald, although I may drive fast, I don't scratch off. 2000 miles and the are done. Give me a break! I'd say try the Michelin Super Sport they have a 300 tread wear and have a 30K mile warranty and if you cant rotate them a 15K mile warranty. That is my next set. I'm actually going to drive mine until they are racing slicks because where I live it never rains. When it decided to rain I would never drive it on that day anyway.

Ya, my father use to live in Palm Springs, I do remember that it never rained, sunny and 75 everyday of the winter, the summer was a different story. All the reviews I read on these Conti DWS 06's sound good, even those with high HP cars. I really want something that rides better even at the sacrifice of some performance and the longer tire life would be a bonus too. If Micheline made the right size tire I'd go with that, but not doing a 295 on my rear wheels.

I'm very much in the camp of "All Season" = "No Season" tires.... I think a set of summer and winter tires provides the best performance and is safest for you (and your family).

If you try and put a highway tire on a performance car, I wouldn't think it would be a safe bet. You do what you think is best. Id put whatever tire the manufacture requires. If you drive your car like a little old lady and don't drive fast then you should be fine.

when i bought my c63 back in the day it came with michelin ps a/s and car handled like crap... changed them to toyo R888 and was a different car, glued to the road and predictable at its limits

I have the DW06 on my E550 Coupe (430 Wheel HP, 555 Wheel LB-FT) and love them. I needed all season as this is my daily driver in VA (and I do drive spirited). In terms of hooking up, there was a completely stock E550 Coupe (M278) on these tires on this forum that has a recorded 1/4 mile in 12.4 sec.

Had these on my previous ISF and consistently drove around in massive amounts of snow with rear wheel drive and 400hp. By far the best all weather tires I have had on a car. Plan to pop these on when I burn up the Pirellis on the e63

is there no one else running the Ventus V12s? UTQ of 320. I know I keep bringing them up, but I really don't believe driving them as a DD would kill the tires in only "3-4 months" per previous anecdote.

Great thats all good news, I mean I know the wagon won't handle as good with the DW 06's as with a summer only tire, I just figure I can go at least 2 seasons without having to replace them with their high wear rating as with the summer only tires. It's a job getting any place to do anything these days, the less I deal with the tire places the better.

What is cupping? Please elaborate on the necessity for XL load rated tires. I see that E550 uses non XL tires.

I have them on my CLS 63 S and like them a lot. They grip fantastic in the cold, and plow through snow with good feedback and confidence. Also, even on very cold days I have to try very hard to break the tires loose (corners at WOT only, launches are solid).
Only driven them for a couple thousand miles though, and no summer driving yet.

The car rides well. They are not as smooth as the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 on my E55, but they are close. I think overall these cars just have a very stiff ride and you feel every bump in the road.

I have those on my 2012 E550 4-matic sedan (M278 w/ 400+hp) they work really well. They are probably the best high-performace all-season in the snow. They aren't as firm as a dedicated summer tire, and can get squishy, but on the plus side they ride nicely on bad roads and are quiet. With stability off I can't break them loose in a straight line in wet or dry. From a dead stop making a 90 degree turn it's hard - they really grip. I thought about putting them on my E63 for the winter, but since my car was new with only 500 miles I figured if I have to buy tires I might as well buy winters (and wheels). When my summers wear out I may switch to these or Michelin AS.

Thanks for the reviews. I think these would be a good tire for me. If I want to go fast on curvy roads I hop in my sports car, I don't look at the AMG as a sports car more of a luxury car that is fast in a straight line, at least my wagon really does not handle all that well to start with so I really don't push it on the curves anyhow.

I ended up getting the ADVAN Sport A/S for my E63 and they worked great throughout winter so far (no snow time yet). I am not tracking my E, so while I would love a set of PSS, it really makes no sense at all.
ADVAN makes some great tires in the ADVAN Sport and ADVAN Neova line, and these A/S are no exception so far.

I recently put a set of Continental DWS 06 on my E550. The ride and handling are hugely improved over the OE Contiprocontacts. The DWS 06 are also very quiet. I am extremely happy and would highly recommend them to any Benz owner.
