i mean the initial lag the car has when when flooring the gas pedal from a complete stop. Not the other lags (which don't really bug me much) such as slowing down to a stop sign and then hitting the gas.
But flooring it from a complete stop, normally with no brake torque/RS launch does the 2016 resolve this issue or not, that is the question.

I replicated it at will and noticed that the car remained in high gear (4) and didn't downshift while it was barely rolling...
Measured ~1.5 - 2 sec lag between me stepping on accelerator and transmission downshifting.
Tomorrow will try "manual" and see if keeping the beast in right gear helps...

My 2015 is instantaneous from the full stop, but does have a VERY annoying hesitation when trying to accelerate from rolling speed.

My GT-R had slight throttle lag too when you stomped it at a light or even on launch control. It was much less significant than this car, but still there. I think this is completely normal for cars with a dual clutch transmission. My E55 had none of this at all... because it had a good ol' torque converter.

Peter, can you briefly tell us what the member with a 2016 e63 reported about the throttle lag?
bottom line, do 2016 models still have the lag which the 14/15 models are known to BOTH be equal in?
This TCU torque limit on MCT really ruins an otherwise perfect car. It's t biggest complaint about it from day one.

bottom line I've determined is that the 2016 models have the same lag, but there is a possibility the 2016 models have smoother shifting
in my thread here, some 2016 owners may have commented on the lag:

I think its the software in the TCU making this dumb lag, not transmission. If it's transmission I wonder why the w204 12+ c63s don't have the same problem.

what I don't understand is that the 12+ c63 uses the same MCT transmission as the e63, with no torque converter and I remember stomping it off the line had absolutely no lag at all before it got going. It felt telepathic with the throttle.

No no wonder a c63 amg with far less torque has no lag at all before it gets its *** moving from a stoplight.
