Great options and colors, super clean CarFax, looks like all heavy highway miles. Warranty runs out in 18 months or 6k miles. I put on 12k miles per year.

What do you guys think something like this is worth?

I try to do my own repairs where possible. I own an E60 M5 with 124k miles on it.

Based on a "Very Good" private party selling value, Kelley Blue Book says it's worth $67K. This is a very rare car and KBB doesn't account for rarity. I would say it's probably closer to $75K. With that said, I would NOT want a car with that many miles on it being that new.

You have one group of people who don't care about miles and another group who do. Since the wagon is a SUPER RARE car, I would personally want way less miles if I were to be a buyer.

I wouldn't encourage trying to do your own work on this car, lots of proprietary MB tools and you really need to know what you're doing.

not sure about wagons but recent July Manheim sale of a '14 S sedan with only 9k miles was 59k...........

They are rare so not a lot of wagons to choose from. Motor Trend said in 2014 that only around 120 were imported for that time frame.

I would look into an extended warranty and have an AMG mechanic check it out and get the service history.

They are asking $69k for this car, $119k MSRP. I was hoping $63k but I doubt that's possible this year. Maybe $67k...?

One guy on here ran a math model or something showing these cars depreciating about $1,000/month.

It is very rare, but it is really only for a very special audience. I think I found 26 total E63 12-16 nationwide, while almost 400 G63 same time period. The G63 are definitely holding value better since there are endless sports players and c list celebrities that want them. Not so much for fast wagons. It amazes me how many E63 wagons appear to be going to a third owner before 20k miles.

As I said above, $67K is the KBB for a private seller, it's going to be less at a dealer but I believe these cars have a premium due to rarity. I would pay $67K for one, it's a bad *** car. All cars depreciate so, if you want a car that doesn't depreciate much, buy a Porsche.

I think people dump the wagons because they are "looker" cars. They are stupid fast, incredibly nimble, and very practical; but my suspicion is people want compliments and the average person thinks it's just a wagon. It's nothing out of the ordinary. If you're just looking for performance, I would recommend the sedan. If you want the utility of the wagon, then it's definitely the way to go.

I had a 2002 996 911 Turbo before my E63 S, I got more looks in that car than I do in my 2016 E63. I honestly believe people just look at them and don't think twice. Car guys know what they are usually, but the average person just says, "pretty car", LOL. After all, it's a sporty "old man" car, LMAO.

Sometimes to screw with people, I'll manually paddle downshift to make the exhaust pop and people kind of scratch their head's, "WTF is wrong with that thing", LOL.

That seems REALLY LOW, either they need a quick sale or something may not be quite right with the car. Accident maybe? If the car is in good shape, it's probably long gone.

Don't feel bad about depreciation, mine was $110K MSRP and I leased it at $100K!! Let the first fool take the hit and I'm the fool, LOL. Loving everyday with the car. That's saying a lot coming from a 911 Turbo. I really love the Merc, it's much more usable for me.

Driving the Porsche was an event, driving the E63 S is just no big deal.

Not sure about this. Beside Porsche's hypercars and some of the GT series, most still depreciate rather quickly. It would be nice if they don't depreciate much, though.

Anyone who can't afford to divorce him or herself from $70k in five years for a big grin on the face on every startup and every acceleration from a stop and every turn... Should not be buying this car, period.

clearly i don't gross enough to want to own these new, but.. ya know, at $65K pre-owned, the depreciation isn't nearly THAT bad.

to OP: i think $67K is still too much or such a friggin high mileaged car. my used '12 wagon had 24K mi, 8/year which is already higher than i'd have liked. autotrader alerts show pre-facelisted M157 wagons, < 30K mi, are readily available at < $60K now.

Totally don't agree. I paid $42k for my 2006 M5 2.5 y old, 42 kmi on it. Sticker was $101k I think (every option)? I put $10k in repairs into it. I love it so far...7.5 y in and now at 124 kmi.

Letting someone else take the hit the first 2-4 years is a great way to go.

Same here, well, yes 12-13...I saw one going for $49k (12) with nice options very high miles, another going for $54k, no too high of miles, but nice options too (12).

I really want the 14-16 features. I'd love to get into one at $65k, but might have to wait a year for such savings...

Yes, my friend is about to to pick up a lightly used '15 Macan Turbo (~5 kmi) with pretty much every option except PCCB and Sport Exhaust for $79k. It was MSRP $105k. That's 25% off sticker for 18 months in-service/2MY.

You can get a 2014 911 Turbo S MSRP $205k for $135k now (~25 kmi).

Well, I want the Wagon for its uniqueness and utility. I'm trying not to cave and buy a cheaper Sedan (I think it's 5:1 ratio out there for Sedan S:Wagon S?). I have an m5 Sedan already!

The car is the real deal. It is still around, and has a very clean CarFax, no reported accidents. Just had some tires changed, oil, and F/R brakes.

There are enough of these in the high $70k/low $80k range with very, very low miles. This is the first one I've seen in high $60k range, but it has 2x the typical miles per year. I'm sure more will show up soon.

Damn, there are still 10-20 brand new '16 on lots that still need to trickle through the system, and W212 is over now.

I know a $60-$70k will depreciate a lot as well, but if I could save $55k off MSRP for a like-new car with highway miles, I'm good with that.

so.. math says '14 leases will end in a few months, and auction cars/lease returns will start to trickle in by Q4, all the way to March. That was the pattern when I was shopping for mine. You just gotta be patient and let Father Time do his thing.

If it feels right to you, make the jump! That is a substantial enough savings over a new car to give it a shot. Yes there will be more cars show up in the next 6 months that will drop that 2-5k difference you are looking for, but the time spent driving the car is priceless and usually cannot be made up for with 2-5k

Now when you get the E63, make sure you line it up with your M5 and show proof finally that the E63 is the fastest sedan ever, and also the M5 is slow with the highest trap speeds ever
