Why so few 2013 E63's for sale but many 2012 or 2014s?

Why so few 2013 E63's for sale but many 2012 or 2014s?
Am looking to buy a used w212 E63 and starting to search around at what the supply is of used ones from 2012 to 2014.
interesting seeing from Cars.com search that among those years, the 2013 model is most limited in used car supply (based on today search, not sure if there's any trending here..)
I guess my question is why so many 2014's for sale and so few 2013's? were the 2013 production numbers lower, or 2014 much higher? maybe none of this really matters, but just curious if any feedback as i REALLY like the 2013 model especially since it had the upgraded/split cooling vs 2012.

2013 - 17 E63's for sale
2014 - 31 E63's for sale

13' was the last year before the facelift. People probably waited for the refresh 14' and 13' sales dipped.

But the same amount of 2013 cars were likely produced and they must have ultimately been sold ... Same with all these 2016 e63's... They will be sold eventually

2015 was a much shorter production year that 2014. Not sure why but MB stopped taking orders on 2015 E63S AMG some time in late March of 2015.

I am not sure I would make that assumption. The 2013 production run may have been cut short to help with the re-tooling for the significant changes. I tried poking around the internet for production numbers to bear that out but haven't found anything yet.

It looks like at the bottom of the data chart that the MY 2014 E class went on sale May 2013. So that will completely obscure the sales data in those charts.

still searching the web to try and figure out if there were fewer 2013's for sale compared to prior/previous years as a reason for the low used car supply right now on 2013s..... or is it the 2013 owners love them, very reliable, and few people are willing to part with them
