Help: No radio/sound when bluetooth is connected
I am new to the car, so maybe I am missing something trivial, so bear with me. I searched, but didn't find anything related to my issue.
I leave my iphone bluetooth on all the time....
When I enter the car and start it, the phone bluetooth connects to the car, is recognized, works, etc.
The issue is, I have no radio sound (FM, Sat, etc.), just very faint static. As soon as I turn off the bluetooth on my phone, the radio works perfectly. If I then turn bluetooth back on, everything still works.
Has anybody had a similar issue? It is a pain in the a$$ to have to disable BT and re-enable it each time I enter the car (after command boots).
Any thoughts? Please tell me this is some simply setting I can change and not something I will have to live with. Having to do this every day will start to really **** me off over time. lol
Thanks in advance for your input, Tim

try deleting Benz from iPhone and hard reboot of iPhone and delete iPhone from Benz and re add
What is the bluetooth profile you are connecting to? (what name displays)
When connected it says "connected to Tim's iPhone"

I think you are looking to stream music? If so you have to go to media and select BT and your phone will start to stream...
To clarify: If my phone's bluetooth is on, it will connect to the car after I start it. The radio (am/fm) or Sat radio will not work, even though I specifically select them in command. As soon as I turn off the bluetooth on m phone, the radio works. If I then turn bluetooth back on from my phone, it connects and everything works normally.
Today it worked normally...radio worked and I did not have to turn off/on my bluetooth. Maybe it was just a freak occurrence. By the reaction I got here, it seems like nobody has encountered this before. Hopefully it was a one time glitch.
I set up my new iphone from a backup of my old iphone, so it probably inherited a bunch of settings. Per frequent recommendations on this forum, I deleted my car from the new phone and vice versa so I could start fresh.
My first couple of BT connections as a phone (not a media player) to the car were odd. The phone appeared to connect fine, but would disconnect on its own and reconnect when I made a BT call. Rebooting the iphone didn't work, but unpairing the phone and car (again) and reconnecting them from scratch did.
A day or two later, I encountered a similar situation to the one you described above. BT off, the music audio worked. BT back on and the music went silent. My iphone seemingly connected fine, but I lost all music audio regardless of what Command buttons I pushed. In the TEL Command screen, it looked like my phone was somehow connected and/or had dialed itself on its own. I think my iphone freaked out for some reason (as they're apt to do from time to time!). It was a one-time occurrence that hasn't repeated itself. I think that it was resolved by either letting the car sit overnight in the garage and/or restarting the car on the drive home.
It's been a week now and all seems good to go now.
