UPD M157 Idler pulley kits

You best choice is to get the parts replaced all at once as a kit ($100.USD):
- the auto tensioner
- the serpentine belt
- the idler pulleys
> Why all these parts?
The modern tensioner is designed to carve a pigeon-hole by oscillating to deliver high belt tension.
After 50kMi it can only exert limited tension efforts on the long belt driving the hot A/C compressor. Realize the belt tranfers energy power to components.
the belt slips increasingly over accessories and generates heat from the multi-grove frictions
the additional heat is transfers into the very next pulley bearing that quickly evaporates its lubricant
The mild steel ball bearing begins to wobble increasingly. The misguided belt transfers mechanical stress to the next bearing accessory.
So the longer you gamgle the bigger the parts tab is going to become. You don't want to deal with more than required.... not water pump, not alternator!
The genuine Continental belt itself is quite impressive, the ball bearings on the other end have a shorter useful lifespan. No need to upgrade anything, just swap a kit. Scheduled replacement 60 to 80kMi ✌️
While doing that inspect accessories for wobbling
inspect nearby surfaces for active leaks.
