E63 vs GTR
#27
I liked the exterior looks better, interior had better layout and technology features, better transmission and the engine was more lively. It seemed to really pull much stronger up top. That isn't to say the E63 S doesn't have its strong suits (obviously the AWD, torque and sound are huge advantages). But the OP was looking for some suggestions for modable luxury cars that can hit 135mph trap speeds and if he doesn't need the 4 doors and AWD, the M6 should be in the discussion as well.

2014 E63 Wagon
Depending on how you think about brand the new cts v is a beast also and can be probably be fitted with corvette mods in the future. The last gen cts v was super cheap to mod also as an added bonus.

I don't track my cars
but currently have evo10 for my son that I rarely drive . TOO noisy
and E63 for daily driving
had two GTR in the past
the E 63 is a great daily driver car , if you have a long commute the GTR beats you up because of the run flat tires

Hey guys, thanks for the recommendation. I think i can live with a 130 trap, however Hellcat is now an option. Not really a fan of BMW and Audi, they dont have the same quality as Benz in my opinion. I will post pics of the new ride soon.

2014 E63 Wagon
I've owned the car (used with 27k miles) for 2.5 months and I've been to the dealer no joke 4 times trying to get small, niggling things fixed. The engine is stout as always, but I've been kind of appalled by the overall quality of this car.
If I'm honest, I bought this car 85% because of the sound and because it's a wagon. If I didn't care about that, I'd probably have either the BMW or RS7 (or Panamera if my vision started getting worse since it's ugly as sin) with an exhaust.
The basic interfaces just feel a bit dated in the E63 compared to the competition, but no doubt that's fixed in the 2018.
The C300 loaner I have right now has a significantly better transmission (dual clutch) than my speedshift 7 speed FWIW.

I was lurking around the GTR forum and they all love there cars , they think it's the best car on the planet , and theres lots of 9 second and 8 second cars . Also it seems like modding is the sky's the limit , there is tons of stuff to mod them with ,
Seems like it would be a nice car to own, I mean it really is in a class of its own a GTR is a GTR , our cars have all the eclass models behind it , M5 has all the 5 series behind it , same for Audi and forget Dodge I can't keep up , scat packs , Rt, Hell Cat , now Demon and I know I forgot a few all makes these cars belly buttons everybody's got one
I understand it's really not a daily driver but it would be a great weekend car

Ive owned a GTR. From FBO to fully built at a click over 1400awhp..This was when there was just a few big power GTR running around. Now days the GTR is pretty cheap to do FBO with flex fuel and have a pretty darn fast car. The newer one has a way better interior then the old one. Keep in mind its still a Nissan...a bigger AMG car is hard to compare to a GTR. Two different beasts..When I had the GTR I most of the time grabbed the keys to the CLS63 since it was way more comfy and more enjoyable to commute in.
Just my 2cents bro..
