Pano sunroof warranty replacement

I took my car in for the known pano sunroof issue on my E63 and they are replacing it under warranty. The only problem is that they've now had the car for almost a month... part had to be ordered, special tools had to be ordered, tech had to be trained, etc.

How long did it take for those of you that have had this done?

Thanks!

What known issue?

cant imagine the headliner and all that going back in ok but I guess that's why they get special training

I had the popping/cracking sound when going over uneven driveways. They initially tightened the bolts which helped somewhat, but the sound persisted so then they recommended replacement of the entire pano roof.

Treadlock on a couple of bolts holding the liner fixes the cracking. I believe it was fixed on 14 and up.

Most dealers outsource the glass replacement, same as a windshield or rear glass. Yes MB has a special training class you have to take to do glass replacement, most techs don't take it. The pano roofs are almost always special order from overseas, as they are incredibly expensive. We do them on the CLA/GLA quite often, I did a GLK one a couple months back. Seen a couple 222s get them due to damage, one had white interior, was not fun for the tech at all.
