Anyone's E63 ride rough and too stiff?
My car only has 55k miles on it and all brand new Michelin pilot sport tires and even with comfort setting it drives very stiff and very hard. Depending on what roads are like, it'll even vibrate in the car. Anyone experience any of this?

I've experienced the metal tabs on the rear suspension potentiometers separating from the plastic arms and rotating about the river such that the suspension never inflated the rear bags.
What is your ride height in the rear as measured from the center of the wheel straight up to the bottom edge of the wheel arch?

I know you mentioned you just had new tires put on, but did you have a chance check if all 4 wheels are straight. It might be worth checking.

I have just replaced lower control arms at 30,000miles (bushings were creaking when steering) and the ride has improved. There will be more components to check and replace in the near future.
The ride is harsh and vibrations can be felt, I'd say it's normal.

Btw. What's your tire pressure? It makes a huge difference.
I ride on the lowest recommended, only add 0,3 Bars all round when plan on driving faster than 250 Km/h.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Be careful with going under 40 PSI on the tires, with a pressure lower than that you are much more likely to bend a rim if you hit a good sized pot hole, plus at high speeds it's unsafe if you're much below 40 PSI. I recently traded in my 2012 AMG wagon because the ride quality was so bad for a 2015 S550 Sedan, that rides awesome and has the 18 inch wheels. That might be one solution to put 18 inch wheels on the AMG, that should make the ride better.

I find the ride on mine to be on the softer side. Currently running stock P Zero tires, but even with a plus size 20" Michelin Pilot Super Sport, I wouldn't describe the ride to be rough or stiff.
What are the wheel and tire specs, and what is your pressure set at?

Just curious do you have the performance package (red brake calipers)? I think those cars came with an even more uncomfortable suspension then on cars with the silver brake calipers.

I'm not a fan of the ride quality in comfort mode either. It's slightly better if I keep the tire psi under 40 but the rears wear like a typical AMG, killing the inner tread/shoulder prematurely. If I keep the tears at 42-45 I get even wear but an even more harsh ride. Pretty sad at this level. No way I'd ever do 20s on this car!

Pretty sure there's no difference in suspension.

AMG performance package also includes sports suspension code 486, I would think its the same for w212 platform may be wrong. A vin decode might be a way to check if you have that option. Also check out some of the comments in the thread, seems pp package really does make the ride stiffer, my car does not have it and I find the ride to be quite nice.
Edit: I just decoded 2 e63 vin numbers on cars.com, both 2013 one with red and one with silver brake calipers, the one with red does indeed have a sports suspension code.

Nope, not as far as I can tell. The sports suspension is completely gone from 2014+, either its included in the car or they got rid of it, hard to know for sure but leaning more towards they got rid of it because that code does not exist for 2014+.

E63s
My car also feels like it rides on a cheese grater, I know the tires can make a difference I have bridgestone summers on mine,I was in an e63 with contis dws06 all seasons and the ride was considerably smoother.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
One of the main reasons I got rid of my AMG wagon was because of the harsh ride, in Florida the car was awesome as the roads are so smooth, but where I'm at in New England in Rhode island I just could not bare driving the car anymore and went to other end of the spectrum with a 2015 S550 which I'm really liking. The S550 with it's twin turbo 4.7 L actually performs a lot better than I thought it would, sport mode makes a huge difference and is actually very spirited driving, loads of torque off the line. I can't say I miss the jerky trans that my AMG wagon had either. It made the gas pedal feel very touchy and was not the most pleasant thing to drive, especially in heavy traffic.

Just drove my E55 today. That car is so much more comfortable. Yeah it has more body roll in corners and doesn't transition as well if going from one turn to the next but it's every bit as stable on high speed curves.
And how joyful it was to take off from a stop in a smooth non jerky manner. I used to think the S/C clutch engagement was harsh on the E55 but after being in the MCT of the W212, that felt like nothing! So smooth!!

The trans in my S550 seems like it is smooth as silk. Lot's of fun to drive in sport mode with the 1st gear start. Loads of torque on this car. Surprised me. I actually think I enjoy driving the S550 better than my AMG wagon. I don't even have to think about the bumps in our bumpy roads anymore either, With the AMG I know where every bump was in the highway I live near. The Roads are horrible in Rhode Island. The S550 kinda solved that problem for me. Hopefully have my new 2018 AMG wagon in a few months. From the sounds of it, it's not gonna ride much better than my 2012 AMG, maybe even more stiff. But at least the Trans should be smoother.

It's 7G MCT vs 9G MCT. So it's not the same really.
Track driven the 2018 E63S yesterday and it feels as slow as the 7G though
