After owning my E55 for 8 years I received a message from another forum member who owned a very special E63 which he was ready to part with(some of you may well know him!). After deliberating for a few weeks I decided to take the plunge and go for it, The E55 went up for sale and sold pretty quick to another forum member, who in turn passed it onto yet another Forum member (long story).

Anyway, the E55 now in a happy home!

The E63 is fairly well optioned up, I have known of this car since the previous owner had purchased it and it has been cherished throughout its ownership. If it wasn’t for the performance mods and previous owner I would have searched for one with a few more toys like my prev E55. That said there is a fair few mods and options I can get on with adding J.

Shortened number plates

As my number plate only has 5 digits , I thought id buy some shorter plates still with legal sized lettering and cut\bond the holders to size., some may hate this mod, but I kind of like it!

Front number plate plinth may have to wait until it goes to the bodyshop as the screw holes are on the edge of the plinth so the shorter plate will not cover these without some work.

AMG Door Pins

The E63 still comes with crappy plastic door pins which Mercedes have used over last few decades, I decided to put in some AMG ones which are available at the dealers part number 0007660228 front, 0007660328 rear.

Front – these screw out, they are screwed in very tight so open the window and get some pliers on to unscrew. Put a dab of glue on the new ones and screw them in until they are flush when locked ensuring the AMG logo is facing you.

Rear- These pull off, get a pair of pliers holding near the top making sure window is open and give them a good pull and they will pop off, dab a bit of clue on the new ones and pop them in.

Luggage Fastening

My old E55 had the Easypack storage system retrofitted by me, hopefully over time I will find a way of getting one fitted into the E63. Until then a luggage net and a bag tree hook have been fitted in.





Window Tints

I have used Pentagon to tint my car windows for years, so I used them again this time, light smoke A pillar forward and Smoke for A pillar back, nice subtle tint.

no idea! its running about 860-900 bhp with 1000lbs of torque, will get it to the drag strip soon!
