Park button issue/Shifter replacement question

I’m looking for assistance and input: my Park button doesn’t work. It happens sporadically and I wasn’t able to figure out what causes it to fail. Now since I suspect I will have to change the park button I thought about possibly replacing the whole shifter assembly to the 2012 model one. Now here come the question:
- is it easier/cheaper to fix just the button? If so - how?
- is it feasible to do an assembly swap for the 2012 model? If so, is there a reliable source to get the assembly parts and are there instructions on how to do it?
bottom line, is it worth the effort?
BTW my car is a 2010 E63

Just a quick question,.. is it the complete park "system" (ie; does it go into park normally when you open your door) or it it just the button that is failing?

Most of them
check my thread out- it's easy to replace. I replaced my whole assembly with one from a 2012 model car from Latvia.

https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...one-wrong.html

i just searched quickly on ebay looking for you one but only found a RHD one.

You could possibly just replace the piece im holding in my hand in the first picture of my thread.

I would sell it for the right price- but honestly would take alot for me to let it go because it is nice knowing i have that piece lying around in case my used assembly decides to do what yours is doing

i believe when looking up the part on a mercedes parts site, you can only buy the whole entire shifter assembly- but, if you look it up via 2014 MY instead of 2010 MY, you can buy the parts separately. At least it was like that when i went through this.

Good luck, let me know if you need any help
