How Much Discount Can I get on a 2015 or 15 CPO 63S?

Hey Guys,

I have started looking around for my next AMG and I am looking at CPO cars only. What is a reasonable percentage off their list price for these? 5% ? 10%? ZERO % ? lol

I assume some of you have been through this not too long ago and can offer data points.

Thanks in Advance.

Everything is negotiable but not all stealers will negotiate. Always try to negotiate with the sales manager not the salesman.

i would negotiate everything over email or the phone before even setting foot in the place. You can go drive it once you have a refundable deposit of $500 down.

i always come at it from a low ball standpoint and see if they bite; not many people in the market for an expensive used car, so you have room, I would start at 12% off price --- are you going to trade Eva in? That will change things a bit; since it's a used car I would only negotiate out if state for a car if you're willing to see and drive and smell (yeah I said it) the car before signing for it.

cheers

I got my 15 e63 in fall 2016 from a dealer in the chicago suburbs and while it was the color/options/miles i wanted it was not CPO at the time.. i required they CPO the car which the dealer did and stated the CPO process cost them $3-4K to bring the car up to CPO level (they did rear brakes/rotors, new tires, rear shade replace, B service, alignment, AC servicing, minor paint touch ups).

after CPO'd the car they wouldnt discount much (1K) which i just agreed t as the CPO had tangile dollar value to me with the extra year of warranty + fixing those items (worth $5k in my guess). i ended up paying $75k with 12,700 miles, perfect condition but no distronic, no carbon fiber, no pano, 10 spoke rims, black leather).

so if you find an e63 at a MB dealer that is not CPO but could qualify for it, you should use that as a negotiable to get a better price/deal.

ALSO - be sure you thoroughly check below the front bumper lip, mine was cracked and I missed having them replace that which isnt cheap!!!!!

Thanks Peter for the advice. Good Advice. I will not be trading in EVA and getting raped by the dealer. Fortunately I am in a position to buy the new ride with cash and then sell the current one (Eva) privately to the right bidder.

It all depends in what options the car has and how much they spent on reconditioning the car to meet CPO standards.

I would say 6-8% off would be achievable deal. Anything above that would be tough to achieve unless that car has been sitting on the lot for many months.

This is about exactly what I was thinking too. But to get that, I would start higher at like 10 to 12% as Peter mentioned.

Thanks to all the good replies guys.

Cheers

I tried to get 6% discount on a ‘14 CPO today with around 32K miles. The dealer told me that their price was ‘firm’...but they did bump my trade in value by $500.
Lucky for me I don’t really need to trade in my car and can wait until I find one that I will pay for.
