Peter - in my search for a 2nd ECU and checking EPC for the correct ECU part number, i stumbled on this MB part number for the ECU risers...is this what you need? they are like 3 bucks each......

Great find! When I went there, it looks like one length though. The front mounts are not the same height as the rear ones. Also one has the hex feature for a wrench and one does not. I know this from working between my ECU’s quite a bit. If you can supply the part numbers for both front and rear mounts\risers you will be DA MAN!
also, everybody keep in mind that these ECU’s are often the same piece of hardware used in multiple models. This means that these mounts/standoffs/risers might be different from one ECU to the next. You will most likely need the risers from at least a v8 e-class, CLS, or s-class.

I haven't had any hiccups in the two years I've had it tuned. I've put on a little over 15k with the tune like this. The bigger cooler just ensures that she runs cool no matter how hard I drive her, it doesn't really improve your #'s. The only problem I ever had was when I romped on the car too hard with less than a 1/4 tank of fuel. She gulped some air, faulted out and then the fault wouldn't clear. Took it to the dealership to clear and all has been good.

Ringking - great feedback, much appreciated! Did you buy the AMS upgraded primary or auxiliary heat exchanger, or go with one of these entire cooler systems? They!

I am tempted to put downpipes on, have them tune it or maybe even do a turbo upgrade but I know that the return on investment will be NOTHING like the change of going to stock to a tuned ecu so I'm hesitant based off their pricing. That's a lot of dough I could do something else with.

So I checked the rubber risers on the tuned ecu ... ams left them hand tight so it's super easy to swap ... no need to have a spare set!

Peter - quick question....are your Conti DWS all season tires basically spinning now with the new power from the tune?
Seems like its essential to get Max Performance grade tires like the Michelin PSS or Nitto's if you're tuned. Otherwise even with 4matic you will experience quite a bit of wheel spin even with good All seasons like the DWS06 or MIchelin PSS A/S 3 tires when driving in dry/warm conditions. i know you garage your car in winter, which I do as well...but trying to figure out how long i might be able to drive on PSS if we get a warm November and it stays dry with temps in the 40+ range or do i just garage it and deal with driving my c240 4matic for 4 months

From a roll with the ams tune I don't lose traction ever.
my suspicion is that summer tires on the track would net you the best 1/4 mile compared to the Conti dws, but for my daily driving it's probably not the most important thing to accomplish this season ...
i think Vrod has summers on his and with his ams tune he described that his four tires spun.
im gonna try all traction off from a dig and see what happens

I don't completely understand what the need was. Why do you need to swap anything? If you have 2 ECU's with the same standoffs already on them why do you need to ever unscrew them?

great feedback thx Peter... am guessing with traction control completely OFF the wheel spin will be nuts on all seasons but let us know
I'll probably just keep my current PZeros (although i hate them) through the fall until i put the car away for winter, then will probably buy 4 new Pilot Super Sports in spring since those sound like great tires to put this power down.

Congrats! I love my AMS tune. I still have the stock plugs but I got more meat on my rear tires. I replaced my factory wheels and now running staggered 285/30/19 in the rear which gives me more grip.

my ecu from eBay didn't come with the rubber feet... so I just wanted a second set for the new ecu to make swapping even easier ... but now that I see that ams kept the rubber feet hand tight I know it's super easy to just switch them from one to another

My all seasons don't have the bite of vrod's tires obviously so I think I'll able to light them up ... I'll report back

If you breakdown on the side of the road somewhere you will want to swap out those ECU's before it gets towed to the dealer. And when you are in an OH SH*T stressed moment, do you really want to be standing there on the side of the road/freeway swapping these simple little bits? I would get the second set my man. Cheap enough and no urgency.
