Ah Gotcha. I would still get the second set if I were you. Here is a scenario as to why:
If you breakdown on the side of the road somewhere you will want to swap out those ECU's before it gets towed to the dealer. And when you are in an OH SH*T stressed moment, do you really want to be standing there on the side of the road/freeway swapping these simple little bits? I would get the second set my man. Cheap enough and no urgency.

Pay someone to go buy them for you! And then kill the guy after you get them. :-) Might be a Hippocratic Oath issue there though. LOL

Or.... Vrod can I find a riser for these two short ones?

WOW! Now you are thinking like a ME! :-) Great idea. I need to know what the difference in height is between the two with some precision. I can measure mine at home this weekend with calipers and then check McMaster. But I am guessing if you have 4 of the short ones we can use standoffs/risers on 2 of them to make up the delta. If you have them handy and can measure the height difference right away and let me know, I can start looking. Or if I don't hear from you, I will measure them this weekend.
Cheers

MY17 S63AMG - MBUSA Buyback. MY16 SL63 - Sold MY19 W213 E63s. 2020 W213 E63s Wagon
This is entirely preliminary and I will post a bunch more for you all. I bought a second ecu for $360.00 on eBay that was a donor from a totaled 2015 gL550 that had 12,000 miles on it ... my original ecu was just read by AMS and left untouched otherwise
the ecu's are easily swappable and they showed me that you do not need to remove any negative terminals from the battery when interchanging. cool
i left the car at 10am with Chris Marshall and his great team and picked it up at 4pm; I left the oem plugs in and will go back to get plugs replaced with new gap of 0.022; I have 28,000 original miles on the car I've put on since I had it new.
first of all thanks to all the members that helped me here on this board but VROD in particular who really helped me seal the deal and gave me great feedback.
chris Marshall was awesome in helping me find a new ecu and walk through the tune process. their facility is really cool and they seem to do some awesome work there.
Ok, here's what you want:
Sorry chiro buddy I don't have baseline vbox numbers but I will have post tune vbox for you soon.
The stock to tune transformation is amazing; acceleration in all modes is smooth and no harsh shifting and daily driving is still perfect and smooth. S+ acceleration at WOT is straight up violent and I leave four patches of rubber.
throttle response is like the GREEN mode on sprint booster now and like vrod said I do not need that anymore unless I put in my stock ecu at anytime
will post more soon, thanks for checking it out

Hey Peter,
I did the recon and looked up the spacer you need. McMaster-Carr part number 93655A253.
It is a 12mm tall standoff with the M6 thread you need. If you buy 2 of these and add them to your 2 short ones you will have the equivalent of the 2 tall ones and the 2 short ones. If you have never used Mcmaster, it is easy peasy. takes about 2 minutes to register and then you can use your credit card. They also almost always ship overnight included in the price. BTW, they are $6.78 each. Hopefully you can afford it. LMAO
Cheers

crazy how hard it is to find the MB part number but having the $89 dollar annual EPC subscription has been well worth it to find the right parts per VIN

Vrod - hey sorry to not clarify....EPC is the Mercedes online site for searching technical part info on all MB cars. I used this a ton when I had my old 2003 C32 AMG and it was a great resource to search by VIN and find any part number and associated components if you're doing the repairs and need to source all the replacement parts. I dont use it much on my E63 since its still under warranty and i just take it to the dealer and let them sort out the parts.....but its well worth the annual subscription price if you are out of warranty and having an indy mechanic (or DIY) repair your car and want to find the correct part numbers to source them less expensively from ebay or other online part wholesalers. i'm happy to run a VIN and look up a part for someone if needed since i have a subscription....
