Shell Race Gas 100 - have you tried it??

Totally random but I pulled Into a Shell gas station in Naperville IL (was near my mother’s house) that has a pump offering race gas 100 octane which I have never seen at any Chicago area gas station.

Question - would running a mix of this 100 octane race gas and 93 octane provide a noticeable power boost on a stock E63 or does it only provide power benefit on a E63 tuned specifically for 100 octane???

Im tempted to try it next visit to mom

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
Hey man

Like you said, you need to be tuned for it to take advantage of it ... won't make a difference otherwise

E63
I made 26-28rwhp mixing 5 gallons of Gulf110 into half a tank of 93 octane on the 3rd pull on a mustang dyno.
The mix was done while the car was still strapped to the dyno. First pull with 110 made less power than before adding the 110 octane

kponti - hey appreciate the feedback....so when you added the 5 gallons of 110 to your 1/2 tank of 93 were you also tuned specifically for that? Or did the existing tune you had for 93 octane show improvement with the 110 stuff??

yeah that’s what I thought....might email Chris too and get his take. Seems it maybe a waste of $$$ if not tuned for it.....

Unless you have a car tuned for 100 octane its fine. If you have a stock AMG then no it is just a waste of money.
