Will Aftermarket C63 Exhausts fit W212 E63?
I ask because the two exhausts appear very similar, at least from about midway back to the mufflers, and there are a LOT more options out there for C63 exhaust systems.
Call me cheap, but I'm not prepared to spend three to five thousand dollars for a catback exhaust.
I've considered the various options for deleting the resonators and replacing them with straight, X, or H pipes, but I'd also like to know if using a full or partial aftermarket exhaust from a W204 is doable. I can cut/weld/modify the exhaust myself, so cost of labor isn't an issue provided they aren't somehow drastically different.
Has anyone tried this? Anyone know what's actually different between the two cars' exhaust systems?
Below are pictures of W212 and W204 AMG mufflers. Aside from the length of the mufflers and tailpipes, and the tips, they appear to be close enough to the same to require very little if any modification to fit on the other car.
I'm more concerned with the rest of the exhaust. If the pipes are totally different in diameter or bent at drastically different angles somewhere, it might not be worth spending money on a full C63 exhaust vs. simply buying high quality universal mufflers and building an axle back.
