Why a huge power drop off after 5k rpms?

I guess it wasn't as noticable pre tuned but very after. Why do these cars drop off in power so much after 5000 rpms. Is it the turbos running out of breath? On the Dyno around 5k just falls off it has a brief moment were it wants to pick up again but drops off. So from 5000-6500 just not much there. Do you guys shift sooner at 5500? Just want to get a better understanding. I've seen some tuned that pull harder then mine to higher rpms.

It’s the small factory turbos but your car may also be pulling timing I would data log and see what your IAT’s and afr is at.

I went ahead and did couple of minutes cruising, one 3rd gear full throttle and then cruised for a bit. Temps outside were 91.

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
It's not unusual to see a post 5k drop in boost and torque ... see the typical dyno shots

...but your boost drops precipitously after 5k

something still doesn't seem right with your m157

Not sure what’s going on with your ride....are you getting any CELs???

Separate topic but i have Dashcommand app too, curious have you figured out how to get an accurate HP reading? It’s not a bad app for logging boost and IATs but the HP setting never works for me. Shows like 850HP on mine which is way off for a stock E63S / w212 obviously.

I haven't I think that comes down to how and were you have your phone mounted. I don't know if I should try the first tune I got from the first tuner or stick with this one. I'm just not 100% happy. There are dead spots here and there when it a accelerates. Just don't know.

one car at a time
You should log timing and knock - that would tell you a lot and help answer your question.

You're running too much boost IMHO for 91 octane and your IATs jump. I am sure your car is knocking, thereby pulling timing and creating dead spots and a weak top end.

Call Jerry at Eurocharged and get a better tune.

I Wish I had the money to pay for another tune but I've paid twice and just can't do it a third time. Last tuner told me rent a dyno spot and I'll dyno tune it. I did try to send him logs of dash command but every time I select just what I want it to record data on it records a bunch of other stuff and the tuner Is saying it's too much info and hard to tell what's happening. Just not happy with the tune I don't know what else to do. Tired of dumping money into tunes and end result is were I'm at now.

Have you tried running race gas (somewhere around 100 octane)? If you can, procure some, and run it for some passes. You can then rule out the fuel/octane thing, potentially. Also, get the torque app...easy to configure and easy to read the .xls logs. I've never used dashcommand, but if it's not working for you, try another...I have several....torque is quite good.

I actually switched from EC to the tune OP is running and I can say the tune he has is a much better tune. There’s another issue going on with OPs car.

I contacted the tuner no response yet. One of he's suggestions was to rent a dyno so I told him give me date and time and let's do it will see if and when he responds. I just want my car to finally run right on a tune it runs perfect without it. Now instead of missing there are flat spots and after 5k it just goes so slow.

Have you logged fuel pressure? I was having a similar issue but in the upper rpms it ended up being one of my high pressure fuel pumps was on its way out car didn’t throw any codes til it got really bad. There’s quit a few people running ur tune my car has turbo back Downpipes and just keeps on pulling all the way to redline.

High pressure fuel pump issue and no codes ? (Those are the pumps in front of passenger side, on top of PCV.)
what was it felt like when it happened ? i mean, what symptoms during driving ?

Same happend to me...the fix : upgrade turbos and add an icebox in the back..even without the ice the iat will be ok for doing a few pulls...
