Tcu tuned!
#153
So looks like I missed the window for the tcu tune In chicago at pinnacle, which is down the street form me actually. How many people are currently on the list now? I'm ready to give my deposit for a tcu tune, but if I'm the only one on the list, will that even happen? I'm bone stock with only 16k miles and this would be my very first mod on the car minus the coils and plug replacements
Edit:4-14-21
Eurocharged Chicago opened its doors and was able to get a tcu tune at the shop. They are even closer to me then pinnacle so it worked out. Still haven't got a chance to test it from dig, but s+ feels very fast and Smooth with almost instant downshift when mashing the throttle

Updated personal best
Finally was able lock in and get a tcu tune . I’ll leave it to the person that helped get the tune state side to decide if he wants everyone to know. But I just wanted to share results
ec high octane race tune
red Star catless downpipes
edok stage 1 tcu tune
These runs I had to drop my brake boost down to 1500 rpm and I still spun second gear. But managed my best time even on my second try.

Lots of useful details on this thread. Anyone done the TJ Merry (spelling?) TCU Tune? Euro charge charges $2k for tune and RaceIQ charges $300 so trying to understand the differences between them? More detailed maps or marketing?
do any of them allow for throttle blipping between gear changes (more curiosity that a need…miss that when I had my E46 M3).
thanks

I have it on the CLS55 totally changes the transmission making it quite aggressive. Definitely makes a major difference

Curious on the TCU tune review as well. If I start beating on my EC Stage 2 ECU + DP's my trans starts shifting really harsh. If theres a way to dial that back and hold gears longer + getting more torque in each gear that sounds like a win. How much is this tune going for?

drop in intakes only engine mod, everything else is bone stock. Stock ecu software as well. As you can see on par with stock times with a tcu tune only. Was a little humid outside and around 82* and 71% humidity. I tried a few diffrent launches, 1500 rpms, 2k rpms, launch control, and best time was using launch control.
I've come to the conclusion either I don't have the tcu done that I paid for, or the tcu tune doesn't help much on stock cars due to the fact that the stock tune is restricting the power in the lower gears

if its restricting power, then its likely a bad tune. pretty sure you dont want full beans in first or second for the longevity of the powertrain...so *some* modulation of power is prudent. but it should definitely a good bit more than stock.
