Hey Guys,

Wanted to see if this has happened to anyone. I just put on the H&R springs on my 2014 E63s 4matic and got these rear links. Rear Adjustable Links. I am now getting an Suspension Malfunction message on my car. Anyone know what could be the issue? The error resets once I restart the car but turns on within a minute.

Probably something wrong with your install, and first suspect is the rear.

I wish I could offer a real solution, but the only idea I have is as stated above. That has to be coming from the rear section as the front doesn't have sensors (as far as I know). Aside form getting the message, are there ill effects? Does anything happen to the ride height? Does it pop up cuz/when you are switching between drive modes?

Ah good point sorry forgot to mention that. The suspension setting stays locked so I can't change it at all. It stays at the comfort height. I'll recheck everything with my mechanic on Monday to see if we missed something.

Your rear links could be touching the control arm on certain bumps . The ball of the link, it happened to me when I would hit the gas hard or hit a big dip. So I adjusted the main bracket and re adjusted the link . Problem never came back. Make sure link end ball doesn’t come in contact. Unfortunately it’s hard to see if it willl at regular stance . Jack the car up so that the rear bags air out then drop the car from the jacks and check where the link placement is before you air up.

Thanks for the tips.guys. turns out it was a front left sensor that needed a slight adjustment. These cars have sensors on all 4 sides the the front left was reading off so we loosened the bracket and readjusted it and now it's all good to go.

That's great news! Glad to hear you figured it out.
Where are the sensors at the front?

Where are the sensors at the front?
They are connected at bottom end to the infamous squeaking cross struts.

I am about to lower the car and with a 1000 mile road trip couple of weeks away, may be I should just wait and do it after words ?

Can someone explain, the locations of these sensors and how to avoid these issues?

Thanks

I don't know how the issues discussed in this thread come about. I had my car lowered and, knock on wood, everything has been great for a couple of yrs now. the front Ride height sensors don't get discussed much on here (you can see I did not even know of their existence 2 yrs ago). But I am sure (evidently) they affect the overall outcome (as they play a roll in keeping the car leveled).
Look at this video as they show how the lowering is done (though they don't talk about the front sensors either):

And, yeah, I'd do that 1K mile trip and THEN mod my car if I were in your shoes.
