How bad is this? After an accident.

I did barely enjoy this wonderful car but I just fell in love with and it is really rare to find a similar one with same specs in my place. My w212 2011 e63 AMG got damaged. Badly.

The car is still in the parking lot. However. I snapped pictures and a small video. There was an idiot who was parked and then just decided to turn and literally let his car enter halfway into the lane, this caused my cars front right wheel to snap and the whole car jumped and swerved into another parked up car and rammed it.

I was not too fast but not too slow as well. I haven't asked any mechanics yet and It is a real pain the *** not knowing what I am heading in for.

How bad is this and what costs are definetly needed after such crash, and is it worth it? I really dont wanna get rid of this car.

The rear side and interior are perfectly fine. Panoramic roof is fine. The engine bay itself doesnt look that damaged. (Only from one corner) the steering wheel airbag and the drivers leg airbag were deployed.

Very sorry to hear/see what happened. It looks like a serious 30-40MPH collision. How do you do after the accident? Alone in the car? Did the airbags deploy?

The vehicle is a toast. I bet insurance will write it off as a total loss. The cost of repair is likely outweigh the vehicle's value. Depending on your situation, place you live, lienholder (if any), and insurance, your options may be different. Inquire with them first. If you can keep the vehicle and have space to store, then parting out is your best bet. Repair is very likely not worth it economically. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the good words about health, thankfully I'm okay.
Just very annoyed by not knowing the real cost yet. I guess I will have to check it with a mechanic too.

Good news is you're okay. Bad news is that's a total loss. I wouldn't even want it back after that. You can always replace the car.

Glad to hear you made it out OK. Right off the bat I'd agree with every one who said it's a total loss. What's the mileage on the car? I was sorta getting a rough estimate using this page https://www.mercedesbenzpartscenter....e--6-3l-v8-gas and I got up to ~$8K throwing in major parts that would for sure need to be replaced. Airbags are listed as not for sale (to general public, maybe?) and the fenders are "discontinued". Maybe it's time to upgrade to a M157.

First, sorry to hear this. I agree with the above. Even if they do repair it, I believe it is a car you might not want to hold onto. There are a lot of expensive electronics up front on these cars, and if the car is not repaired properly it will be a nightmare tracking down problems in the future. Sorry for your loss.

Here was my E550. Total loss.

Yours looks worse although airbags will be a determinant. I think I blew 4 in my accident.

How is the mk157 better? I just loved the sound and the simplicity of the mk156. Or am I missing something? 🤔

I am good after the accident thank you. It has only 98k km on it🥺🥺🥺

What main parts you would consider to be needed for sure?

Oh man this is crazy...
I think mine looks that bad because front bumper and hood ...etc are not original. The are restyling.

M157 is in a different league. A better performing platform all around with decent headroom. You will not regret even the baseline factory tune. Good W212 units start in low $30K under 70K miles. For $15-20K more, you can get the facelifted W212 with 4matic. Best of luck.

I had a moment of insanity and actually asked how much the insurance company would pay out if I wanted to buy it from the bank and fix it.

Instead, paid off the car, pocketed a few extra thousands and got into the current M157. Very happy I came to my senses. I guess we’ll see what the next accident brings??

$24,000 repair cost estimate. That is a low number for a shop. These cars get totaled for much less damage than that.

Here is a more clear picture. It really looks like the engine bay barely took any damage amost if the damage was taken on the headlights region (and whats beyond it)

As for the cassis only the front bar needs a change and the main ones are okay 1 or 2 cm dent. Like in pictures.
