Black Boost Intake Finally Came

It took a little bit to get these due to the holiday but after opening it up and looking at it, the quality is awesome. Love the way they look. I have to give a big Thank You to Jose at BoostedBenz. This guy went out of he's way to help me out and is super nice and appreciate the help and advice. Ill take a few pics of it installed on the car and a video. I'll be putting it on the dyno to get some numbers before loading my E30 tune from Jerry and see what my car can do. Im hoping for 560-570whp with the mods I got now and then 620whp with the E30 tune loaded, will see what happens this car is a PITA to tune so I'm not expecting great dyno numbers.

It took about a month but that was fedex in my area just as usual they either delay my packages or lose them. Jose and I called them to finally get them to track it down and get it on track. I've had tons of issues with fedex not sure why there this crappy atleast in my area. Usually UPS and USPS is not bad and they do fairly well.

i wont be doing a before and after. Most of the times even when people do that there is still debates wether its accurate or not. As long as I have decent numbers nothing amazing ill be happy with that till I take her to the track. I do have a draggy i can use maybe do a couple of runs with that before and after as well.

Ok so i finally got around to installing it today. Its a super tight fit for sure. I had a hell of a time trying to fit the stock coupling that connects to the intake down to those silver charge pipes or i think there called charge pipes. Nothing on this system will even remotely sit loose. I ended up driving it once I warmed up the car and the first initial tap of the throttle car did not like it and bucked like it miss fired.

So I drove it a little longer but I decided to leave it in M mode 4th gear and let it gradually climb rpms and see how it does as it climbs up. Car got it and no missing. This car mine in particular is a super picky and hard car to dial in so I wasn't surprised it initially missed.

After a few wide open throttle runs it felt it was pulling harder and harder seems like it needs time to get use to it. I did hear a little more sound not alot and depending on the road if i let off the gas after a slight acceleration it will hiss a bit, nothing major. With intake systems atleast from my past once the ecu gets use to it they tend to get louder.

So will see how it does as I put on the miles. I also had a slight issue getting the engine cover
back on but wasn't expecting that to fit perfect either. This is a super nice intake upgrade and I had a great experience dealing with Jose. Excellent quality and customer service, Thank You 🙏

I just uploaded so quality is not gonna be great till youtube allows better resolution. I also shot it in a dark garage with the front camera, my apologies fir the terrible vid.

It looks like a larger filter could have been put in there. Did the previous version have larger filters?

I should have mentioned to you in our private chat about the engine cover. If it's concerning how there's a gap around the ecu, I overcame that by using spacers. This was something brought up before in the UPD cold boost kit discussion.

For me i got caught up on were the stock coupling going from intake to charge pipe the silver pipes was a bit of a trouble but overall very easy. 8/10 easy. For sure the car no doubt pulls harder top end in the rpms but as well as past 100mph. My car would fall on its face.

sucks to see how many people are having good experiences with Jose and saying how good the customer service is when with me it has been absolutely atrocious. Received 0 updates even though I reached out. Had to find a WhatsApp number just to get some sort of response from him and when I did he lied and said that he’s been openly communicating with me and claimed that I had a tracking number that was never sent. Currently still waiting for the intakes & being treated like garbage just because I was trying to find out what was going on. Hoping that I get these at some point but kinda weary. Glad that everyone else has had a good experience. Just hoping I don’t get scammed at this point cause that’s how it feels
