Bought an almost new '14 e63s... cant drive it, so I modded it
After my carvana debacle, I was able to located and buy a 2014 E63s with only 11,100 miles. Optioned with both the Bang & Olufsen and the full distronic assistance package.
The car showed up on a Friday after the DMV closed, so I couldn't drive it all weekend... so I decided to mod it
I installed both a sunveer front lip and a ebay rear spoiler. I also lowered it with both H&R coils and links. Im very please with the front drop, I need to tweak the rear. Took me a while to understand the height difference between C, S, S+ and what happens with the car is off.
I would like to increase the sound, likely with a muffler delete and toying with an idea of a EC stg 1 tune, nothing crazy.
Phoenix AZ. That car was originally owned by the owner of the Tampa bay buccaneers, to 133 miles lol. I bought it from commercial real-estate broker. Its been babied, no imperfections
Lip looks great... which one is it? Also what rear spoiler?
The lip is suvneer. Highly recommended.
The spoiler is eBay, it's crap (fitment is terrible). I'm working with the seller, not sure what we will work out
Are the heights different when in C, S and S+ even when I select the suspension to be the stiffest? When it’s on the road, if I switch between C, S and S+, does it change the height dynamically?
very clean car. congrats. You do need some spacers indeed. a 12mm out rear or even a 15 will make the stance look alot more aggressive,as well as throwing a 12 upfront(im in the process of getting these) Not sure if having the transmission in s+ does anything with the suspension as the suspension does have its own mode. maybe im wrong?
Also glad there is another DIY'er on here as well. good job!

Looks all nice but I just had a total coolant hose failure 1 week ago. Had to get the car towed on a flat bed truck. You're not going to make it up the ramp.
BTW, you have the same crappy coolant hose fixtures installed. It's just a matter of time until you have the same failure.

So so all the pictures you see above, were taken with the stock links in the back.
I bought some links off of eBay, but even in their longest setting they were much shorter than the factory links. I went ahead and installed them, and the car leveled itself at about 24 in (ground to fender height) looked way slammed lol
I then put the stock links back in, and it leveled itself at about 25.5 in. Which in my opinion looks great. I then drove around, and when I got home the height was about 27 in lol look like a 4x4 in the back, but after I turn the car off it's sunk back down to 25.5. this is my second e63 in 2 weeks lol, and they both let air out of the rear about 1 minute after you turn the car off.
Anyway, there is nothing in the owner's manual about this. So I found a few posts on this site that described this situation.
I forget the exact specifics, but according to one of the service manuals when the car is in S the bags are in there normal height. S+ lowers the car about 0.7 in, and C raises the car 0.6 inalso it says that when the car is turned off, the car lowers itself to the lowest setting which is the S+.
Once I get the new links, I will try to tweak the rear ride height. I think ideally You would want set up the car to maintain a little bit of "rake" at the lowest setting, so I would set the s+ height to be maybe a half inch higher or the same as the front.
Unfortunately,This would still mean that the car would be about a half inch higher and S mode and almost an inch higher in comfort mode in the re ar
EDIT:
SO I played around with the car after work today, it does not seem to related to the transmission mode (c, s, s+) It seems to be completely related to the suspension mode.
Onon my first test having no lights on on the suspension or comfort mode, yielded a height of 27 and 1/2, putting it in sport one, lowered it to 26 and a half. I watched it for a minute after I put it in sport too and it did not seem to move. But after I shut the car off it lowers to 25 and a half.

yep, I have the same spoiler, mine also fit like crap and had bubbles in the clear. We agreed I would keep it for a 60% refund...they obviously didn't want it back. lol

I've installed quite a few of these eBay type carbon spoilers on various cars And I've actually been pretty impressed with the fitment. however this one, no matter which way I try to orientate it has large gaps in certain places. Much of the double-sided tape won't touch. I'm literally half expecting it to fall off lol.
here you go, I'm working on replacing those plastic connectors with one aluminum elbow and wide hose clamps. Never imagined that those welded hose clamps would fail. The hose just slipped off and the clamp fell off. The motor wasn't even under load, just idling around.
Congrats!
I cant believe people spend 120K on a car and only drive it 11k miles in 7 years. Thats crazy lol
I know right?
You have the muffler delete on yours Right? Are you over all happy with it? I kind of think putting some performance mufflers in place of the stock ones might give a better sound, but I cannot find a single example
Good Looking - for improved sound mufflers/exhaust are way overpriced IMO you are better off doing res delete and H or X pipe - heated debate on which is better. i have the resonators deleted and H pipe (i think - i have to look again) on my 14 Wagon (mine doesn't get driven much) and cruising its reserved, but open it up a bit and the neighbors will def hear you and that 2nd gear pop is a beautiful sound.
i'm more of a driver then wrencher - but so much good info here

I have downpipes and resonator replaced with H pipe. I couldn’t be any happier with it.
X pipe sound near stock, H pipe is stock tone but amplified, muffle delete might change the whole tone, not sure.
