In the settings of the unit (not on the carplay bit but the black screen with the white icons on) you can bring up the firmware data I believe.
I emailed the supplier through amazon when I had an issue with mine and they emailed me some new firmware data and instructions for how to update it, The reply time was slow as I am in the uk and they are in china but we got there in the end.
Once i updated my firmware it seemed to make the unit shut down a bit quicker once you had shut the car down as I used to notice that my phone would connect to it when I went near the car, It doesn't do this anymore.

How ha your experience been with yours? Are you using wireless or wired? I've noticed my call quality has gotten a bit ****ty...

Edited to add: It still works well. Have an intermittent issue where it doesn't load the screen on the car (but it is functioning - I'm still getting audio wirelessly). So, I just click through to "disconnect" it and then "reconnect" it, and that usually fixes it. It seems to happen more often if the car is hot (i.e., been parked outside on a hot day). I've never reached out for help because it's very rare.
