Have you considered a Black Stone oil analysis to see the metal content/ratio in your oil?

I've actually already done two (see below)... both look good. Usually I wouldn't do them this close to one another but I wanted to see if there were any perceptible changes from before/after having the oil pump solenoid switch disconnected.

Following up on the Blackstone question.

Has anyone done a multi-year Blackstone sampling campaign on an M157 and seen wear metals increase, and the engine developed bore scoring/scuffing?

I searched online for this and it appears the question has been asked but, as usual, not answered directly. Thanks for any input.

Ive never seen it mentioned anywhere. Anecdotally, I always check my oil. In terms of visible metals, Ive only seen it after replacing bolts in the cam covers. I change oil so frequently that an analysis would not tell me much about breakdown or viscosity, imo. 3k max and some flushing,.. FWIW my bores are in very good condition at 73k stock p30. There's pictures im sure youve likely seen. I had two wet bores which have since been treated and need to be reviewed. That treatment was chemicals in bores, sp oil, fogging bores, and cleaning vales. I do not expect any random issues. Ive also played with unplugging the solenoid but it's currently plugged in due to warranty on work I had done and I only drove it like 2k miles this year and soon 5/50 will go in and ill unplug the solenoid.

I think we realize that longer oil changes and boost before warmup were major causes of stuck rings that were not remediated, leading to dirty valves and scoring pr bent rods. This could be exacerbated by improperly installed plugs and dirty injectors causing a hot spray pattern or dry wall.

I know that was not your question, but my experience with these bores. Purchased with 42k and it was using thin oil, no check valves. I immediately moved to 5/40 motul. I did a bunch of maintenance over the years, but nothing odd or extreme beyond the check valves.
