I'm really excited for the progression of this build. I love the systematic approach taken, with all the behind the scenes documentation and evolution of the car.
At each milestone, any mechanical weakness is being vetted out and improved upon. This isn't just another "big turbo" build.
It's a holistic approach to pushing the platform further down the road then any build to date... including previous shop builds, with the critical difference that Efrain is taking us along on his journey, being fully transparent.
The work being expended here will reap dividends for all of us moving forward.
Efrain is a true enthusiast doing it for all the right reasons.
Props to you sir...

Porsche didn't make a turbo GT3RS, or a Turbo "R". Mercedes didn't make an E63 "R". Both added stuff to a car to make it their own... just like you did to your car.
Granted, what the OP is doing is on another level, people have built insane S2000s on the same level as the OP's E63S, and whenever someone puts "Type R" on them, it's extremely cringy.

OP,
I've got a 7,9,10 year old, boy girl boy... my 10 year old loves seeing me mod the car and helps at times.
how involved is your son in this journey?
cheers

I'm really interested in the weight reduction aspects of this build as well. Weight reduction has positive benefits for pretty much every driving dynamic possible, in addition to making the car faster. Which wheels did you go with? I saw the brakes chosen - I will probably use those as well.
Great build and thank you for sharing.

the build looks awesome man congrats 🍾
Who did the engine work? I’m also in Long Island looking to do the same build for my G63. By same build I mean built m157 motor. Most shops around here are the type you don’t even want doing your oil change.....
I was thinking of using Tasos and I think that’ll be the best bet but with shipping and all I’m a little afraid and hesitant.

From the speeds, that must be 5th gear ... does your 5th really hit 160 at redline? I'm guessing they would run it to about 6000 rpm, and the highest speed shown is 155mph. I think my car is closer to 180 in 5th gear at redline, and I thought the gearing was identical.

not off at all. If you do the match on weight / trap /quarter mile time it’s on the money . Plus I ran on a Mustang dyno 2 tunes older with less timing and boost and put down 835. And the Mustang dyno reads 10% lower . So figure that tune would have put down 925. - 10% . It’s deff an accurate number.

Cifdig what a beast of a build, truly a 1 of 1. Hope it serves you well.
What do you think about stage 1/2 guys running the same plugs? I see they’re like 30$ a unit so must be a good alternative. Any insight would be appreciated!

can’t see it being bad. But I’d must admit stock plugs work very well . But if your looking for a tad overkill and making sure you have high end plugs up to the task I’d say def

Been a while and wanted to update this thread with some more improvements, new custom built parts and the overall build from the ground up I've been continuously doing to make this the only E63R of its kind. Once complete I will continue the dialing in process now that traction and weight has been addressed . The plan is to have a consistent car that can do a lot more without stressing parts and without needing to run a **** load of timing and a **** load of boost. I'm sure you alot of you will enjoy these new developments. For anyone interested . Total weight savings of rotational mass is a total of 90lbs between the rims, rotors and carbon shaft . This alone should make for some nice 60 ft times leaving easier and letting the lsd front and rear do its job . Atleast this is my plan Ofcouse. Carbon rotors are A2d-performance carbon shaft are a2d-performance, meth kit from A2d-performance.
first to address rotational mass we have opted for custom built 19x9.5 Et36 magnesium forged wheels coming in at 16lbs each. Next We have also designed new direct bolt on carbon ceramic rotors that weigh between 13-14 lbs. next we wanted to address the slop the stock drive shaft has. It took some time to have this development completed but we have now managed to replace our shaft with a custom 3.75 carbon fiber driveshaft. Going from 3 pieces to now only 2 pieces with direct fitment and no need for adapters . This is not a universal shaft made to work . This shaft is specifically designed for the w212 awd and cls .
Next we wanted to focus on traction . With all this tq and power we have no traction in in a 50mph roll . So we have focused on delivering traction to the front with a custom Quaife LSD in or differential with some minor adjustments they were able to deliver a lsd that fits flawlessly. Next was time to work on the rear which is an open differential just like the front. So again i opted for a Quaife LSD. I went for Quaife because they have been around a long time and having used them in my prior platform I'm 100% confident in them . Fitment in the rear was flawless as well . No cutting of any kind
Along with these new parts I decided to do a complete respray making her look as well as she performs. I have done the following. All new suspension completely ceramic coated. Front thrust arms with spherical front bushings, custom catch cans, re wrapped every electrical wire in the front with thin wire shield/heat protection. This has been one hell of a project that I was projecting to unveil 2023. I'm in no rush to build a car I'll be handing down ti my son considering everything will be electric one day . This will be a car we plan to keep on our family a long time. BEST Of ALL. Everything was done by my own 2 hands otge then just the engine but that is also installed by me. All the custom parts were measured and designed by me to my specifications. Hopefully these new parts that have been designed can continue to push this platform
