agreed. I actually like the factory style electronic damper . They get pretty darn stiff. I was hoping to keep those functions while doing coilovers and having the best of both worlds. Being able to just hit a button and have softer suspension. Instead of riding with a stiff setting 24-7. Also it would allow me to set the dampers on comfort that way during a launch I can still get that rear squatting for optimal traction but with coils. Atleast in theory it should work that way . V3 coils would be a fantastic swap tho as well. It would make the car so different in a good way

Who/where did you get the front strut bar and rear subframe bar from?

ultra racing. Makes the car more responsive to steering and corners . As you know these chassis are very soft.

You'll be rubbing under heavy corner loads. Hope you don't, who knows.

He won't rub against the strut. If it clears now, It's cleared. I ran 275/35/19s up front for a couple yrs and the tires never touched the strut... I had even less space.

Living vicariously through your build man, looks amazing! Had a couple of questions:

With your show wheel's 20x10 setup and the et35 offset, did you have to run spacers on the front or rears? Looking to run a square setup for autocross in a 19x10 et35 and a 275/35/19 hoping it'll fit before I pull the trigger on a purchase.

Also nice setup on the radium catch cans! Are you using a return system or a VTA setup? Like others here very interested in how you set it up. I came from the world of the mazda DISI 2.3 motor which really needed the catch can setup or you're cleaning valves every 20K miles.

I rubbed while running the 275s up front. My wheels are 19x9.5 ET35. I added a 3mm spacer to give me a lil' more room strut side. At stock ride height, it rubbed against the front fender liner (though I never felt nor heard it happening)

Once lowered, it rubbed on the inner fender liner at ~ 1-2 O'clock position when driving over 30-40 mph AND hitting dips and bumps. Sorry, I don't have pics. of that.

But I liked how much it filled in the fenders:

Hopefully, that extra 1/5" width and tire choice will give you enough to clear everything (but I am not very optimistic about it clearing). @NH_E63 If I were you, and if I were spending on a custom set of wheels, I'd perhaps have them made 19x10 ET32... but, that will be VERY tight with 275/35s. You can see how close it was to my fender in that pic above.

Thank you for the info!! May drop to a 9.5 then, to have an option to drop to a 265 without stretching the tire too much.

my current setup is 19x9.5 all around using 265/35/19. I've noticed the tire patch is more even with 265/275 over 285 and up which was given me camber wear. When testing my last set of summer tires in 265 I was get better traction with it surprisingly. Seems like less weight in resting on the inner tire with a narrower tire. But the tire patch itself when looking at the specs almost match that of a 285 just off by little. Now I can rotate tires and rims because they are all the same. Plus the added bonus of less rolling resistance. Now I'm using radials so hopefully it's even better along with these LSD's

Is the strut bar a custom job or does someone offer one?

custom . Unfortunately we never have goodies we can buy already made. Not a part that's in popular demand that has manufacturers lining up to make it

Well damn. I was actually looking for one for a while and was hoping I just happened to miss it in my search.

i looked for a while . And you would think considering how soft our unibody is that they would make sure every possible bar that could be utilized would done. Ultra racing did a front strut and rear lower subframe . This alone made such a dramatic change. But I would still get some twist especially when I was going on a driveway that's uneven. It's almost like I was able to feel the rear twisting. When I made a hard left turn the rear left side corner would feel like it's coming up . So much better after the lower bar but not enough . So now I have installed the rear upper strut bar . An additional lower center tunnel brace bar. So now in total I have 4 chassis bars which now should provide and even distribution of weight shifting when loading and unloading the power and tq.

I'm so excited that my numbers all worked out . The rim size, tire size and offset. Now when it's squats it will not touch the inner quarters and possibly slow me down. I literally just made it by 3-4 mm clearance.

She's alive!!!! Coming off and being dropped down on to the payment tomorrow at some point. Will be going for the first ride of my finally finished project. Will be taking it easy, just to make sure everything I've added and developed works in unison with one another.
