wanted to post this since all the recent threads have been scaring the hell out of me. A little ray of sunshine to brighten yall's day. Nice to know there are some really high mileage examples out there.

That's awesome.
230k miles for a 2014 is not insane for a "regular" car, but it is a ton for an E63. Highest W212 I have heard of for sure (of course, there is that 450k mile one in PA - but not a 212). I have been adding mileage on mine, but had no idea what the highest mileage was - now I have a goal! hahahaha
25k miles per year pace - I'm assuming a lot of it was highway. What a great car for highway miles!

I'd like proof that it's on the original untouched engine. The Carfax history would be a start. I just don't think we can go in assuming it's 100% untouched. Hopefully it is.
You can find plenty of high mileage M278 cars and I would presume that any M157 car, particularly one not driven to an inch of its life every mile, could accumulate just as many miles without catastrophe. Of course, there are a number of things that can end the life of the engine and they either didn't happen to this guy, he caught them early or they happened and all issues (including the really bad ones) were fixed and the car was put back in the road. I understand at some mileage a new engine is going to be too rich for someone as a repair, but there's no saying something bad didn't happen at 130k. If there is a VIN there is a way to get history for free.

The ad makes it seem quite fully loaded with B&O and ceramic brakes. The pics suggest the B&O is a lie (I do see Distronic Plus) but I was going to make a comment that such a highly optioned car would be worth repairing, at least more so than a lesser optioned one (like mine).

No info from a quick search of the VIN. It says "no damage" reported in the one accident. So, maybe that is an engine replacement? Who knows... It's also been for sale for over a year, so who knows if it is still actually for sale. $29k seems a bit high to me for that mileage.

I mean..... not sayin but I'm sayin ... but who's in a market for any car with 200k+ miles let alone a high maintenance drama queen amg... and likely overpriced at $28,000??? It could need a new engine and trans like ... today.

Transmission removed and reinstalled on 1/18/19 at 110k miles. Lots of spark plug replacement, diff service, brakes.
Cylinder head replacement on 2/28/19 at 111k miles. Transmission R&R AGAIN.
It's almost like that thing I said...
"Transaxle overhauled" on 4/30/19 @ 116k
left axle replaced
Oil pan replaced
Engine mounts on 4/22/20 @ 156k
Radiator on 5/14/20 @ 158k
New wheel(s)
Water pump on 9/23/21 @ 214k!! Original????
A/C compressor on 11/1/21 @ 219k
I don't have anything after that. Overall, I'd say this is actually pretty good history and it could well be on the original engine (minus the cylinder head thing).

wanted to post this since all the recent threads have been scaring the hell out of me. A little ray of sunshine to brighten yall's day. Nice to know there are some really high mileage examples out there.

Admittedly I didn't sorry about that,I just saw the mileage and thought it was regular maintenance. Matter of fact I was just reading through the thread after replying. Now I did "post 14" https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...ml#post8784297

Hey as long it's not the dreaded I blew my engine and need to buy a new one I would happily be ok with replacing all the things listed instead of an engine.
OR
Replacing the whole wiring harness I would still call this very much a win
All of the things listed even tho expensive do not come close to issues we are scared about the most and their relative costs

Bought from original owner. Several front and rear light fender benders (NY/NJ nonsense) but that means I have new OEM bumpers with PPF so cosmetically the car is nearly perfect. And was 100% dealer maintained.
