I checked mine, twice, from ~60mph to 0 and the hazards on the dash did not come on, and no clicking sounds, so I assume I don't have that function. What I read, or remember of reading it, was the hazards do just like the vid Red posted. Hard stop from speed, then once fully stopped the hazards come on.
My problem is I knew nothing about the flashing brake lights. Yes I know you said it Red, but my brain heard flashing hazards or those jerks with brakes that flash all the time. Sigh... So double thanks for the vid to set me straight
The drawback is now I have to check to be sure my brake lights don't flash >: | I spoze I'll use a reflective road sign at night, and try to reply with results sooner than 10 weeks this time

I confirmed mine worked by adjusting my outside mirror down to view the road at night right behind the car and performed a quick stop from speed. No other cars were around. I could see my brake lights flash. I assume you can do the same and quickly tell if that are flashing or not.
